They got rid of lots of good guys, many of the new joiners are absolutely clueless and have no experience on long-haul operations. They will get there but they need a LOT of training and babysitting! Apparently the best we can get.... go figure

Hi there, I wish my first post would be more useful but I'm really confused about my future planning. My assessment was cancelled 3 weeks ago and I still have no answer yet. I'm also flying in a flag carrier in ME. I would really appreciate if any esteemed colleague over there share his/her valuable opinion and experience with me if possible in private.
Also there are lots of FOs from my company who have finished their assessment during summer and about to join Emirates in December, January and so on. So as far as I know it takes around 6 months from zero to hero. |
Guys... Anything one can do to get out from the "shortlisted" list?

Hi guys,
Anyone reapplied after being unsuccessful? Is it even possible with emirates? Thanks! |
A couple of folks have messaged me recently but it is worth highlighting this to all: HR are totally overloaded at the moment. To give some perspective, colleagues are waiting many weeks to be assessed for internal applications for promotions or different positions, never mind external recruitment. Simply put, we just can't get enough cabin and flight crew in through the door at the moment and it appears that HR are struggling to keep up. If you want to join and have not been binned yet, then persistence and perseverance are the key. 777 rosters are close to minimum days off per month now and the 380 guys are going to max out on monthly flying hours soon, so we are getting short of pilots. Watch this space.

G’day gents,
Should I take it as “curtains” since I’ve not heard back from them for months now, since applying for the Airbus FO posting? Just the usual, automated reply confirming receipt and that’s, that. Are they prioritizing on re-joining first (as they should) and then picky on being current/recent on type or are they flexible on the same? 8,000 hrs in total with 2,500 plus on the A330. Other equipment flown as well. But not current/recent since being laid off due pandemic. Not a hum heard since the initial application, sadly.

Hi All,
Anyone know the time between final assessment and getting an offer letter? Or does anyone know if it correlates with the medical being fully processed (mine is still saying 'In process with clinic')? I have another job offer and im trying to manage expectations as they are pushing for an answer. Thanks |

Not sure what planet you mugs are living on but it sounds fun albeit fanciful. Come back to earth guys, the next couple of years are going to be very tough!
Furthermore, the US has been in a technical recession for the last couple months, should we stop going to brunch because of this? I don’t recall any EK pilots being laid off in the last “Great Recession” for the record. |

"CEO of Emirates Airlines has revealed in an interview just how important the UK is to the Dubai airline. According to Tim Clark, the UK makes up more than a quarter of Emirates’ capacity and is responsible for 56% of its European profits." https://simpleflying.com/emirates-un...gdom-capacity/ |

Don’t get me wrong, that was (and still is brutal) for many. But we all can’t live in fear because of a pending recession in other countries, that may or may not affect us. What next one asks? Should we fret about the price of tomatoes in Cairo of just keep calm and carry on?!?

Lots of very naive little boys on here. Get their news from Lovin Dubai .

2008 crash literally made dubai a ghost town. I was here and it wasn't pretty.
In the pandemic they pretended that it wouldn't affect business blah blah and then laid off 1.5k pilots. The upcoming global recession will be bigger still in terms of scale, and no doubt will decimate the UAE again! But lets all pretend for now! who's coming for a 800 dizla brunch at the burj? off to buy a Ferrari cause our jobs are so safe!!!!!!! #mydubai |
