I'm not sure which part of the interview they failed but many have reapplied and been succesfull second time around.

According to the current policy you can reapply after two years and they will analyze on a case by case basis and depending on why you did not succeed on the first time, you will be given a second chance. Based on the fact that they need to hire 700 pilots for the next 18 months, you have good chances to be called again. Keep updating your application online. Feel free to pm me.

Its NOT an 'interview' on the phone. It was likely an English language check, and perhaps an opportunity to 'clear up' any mistakes/omissions on your application.

Even though you may be from/live in the UK, perhaps you name isn't? Perhaps the 'blurb' you wrote on the application was of a poor standard?

When you are being called for a potential invite for interview, I suggest this is not the time to start discussing the package or accommodation options with the admin staff (there are currently PLENTY of villas and apartments available BTW), as this would actually CONFIRM that you have indeed done bugger all research into EK..... Its ALL clearly stated on the EK career website buddy:ugh:

Will I be invited to DXB for EK screenig?
 

I'm also the one who got a phone call 3 weeks ago from EK and after that my status went to " shortlisted" on my web application.
I told him that I would be available in July or August for the screenig and I requested him to let me know the shcedule 1 month before in advance to arrange for the trip to DXB.
But I havn't got any email or call ever since that.
Normally How long do I have to wait to get an invitaton after the call?
Do I still have a possibility to be invited for the screening?
I'm very excited for that.

Indeed exactly as I thought. Problem was the HR lady was insistent in telling me so it was "black and white" but in terms of accomodation it became grey.

Does anyone here know anything about cholestrol and passing emirates medical??

My cholestrol is around 220 and i have been taking approved cholestrol leveling medication.

With medication, my cholestrol is around 146. My BMI is below 30.

4000hrs A340 and 1000hrs 777, 9000tt, but do they have a max age for F/O slot? I'm early 40's and it doesn't mention anything on the application?

I read the max age was about 48-53, depending on your experince level. There is no PUBLISHED age limit.

I received the following from Emirates in early June. Apparently there were unpublished age limits, not on their website. If I had known about their age limits I would not have spent hours filling out their online app & waiting since Jan. 2009 to find out I was too old for FO and the airliner I was Captain on, the Fokker 100, does not weigh enough! :ugh:

They have also been changing/lowering the minimums since they started hiring last year, so if you don't meet the mins later, just wait a bit...

PS-The OTHER thing I hate is when an job has published minimums, but then they go and hire pilots who are BELOW the mins!

I have been following this topic for a while and would like to bring my thoughts as well...
I applied for them about 1 week ago and got a call from HR today probably to see my english level and ask a few questions.. Also seemed to ask if I could lower the 2 month period for my current airline.
Hopefully I will get shortlisted soon.

I am wondering why is there such a negative atmosphere because when i travelled as a passenger with them all seemed to be at very good standard.
Also i get max 2400 euro in my current airline as a senior F/O so im curious how people can struggle with twice that?

Quick question which kinda leads on from the previous one (sorry to jump in AIRWJO); is the book "Preparing for your Emirates Interview" by X,Y,Z still a good source of prep and information re the process? I think it's in it's 2nd or 3rd edition now and just wondering whether it would be a good plan to pick one up.

You really don't need to prepare for this interview.

If you are a competent pilot you will get the job based on the sim assessment........ unless you are socially retarded.

They are desperate beyond belief, have this on good authority from inside recruitment at EK.
