Honestly, this just about sums Qatar airways up. Insists that you have all the above letters prior to joining, but won’t provide the same on departure. Pathetic behaviour to make it more difficult for people to escape this toxic shambles.

Saying that you are a 5 star airline doesn’t make it so. Actions not words.

Please consider if this is truly where you want work.

For those of us in it's too late. But consider where you want to go next after QR, because there is always a next job.
May you show us or elaborate which manual exactly? How can you join a company who doesn't offer you your basic rights? If you are already part of QR can you show us how this is written as I don't quite believe what I am reading myself.

Is this really true from Qatar Airways that there is no such certificate offered as it is your right. What do they expect people to do? It is a no go for many because of this!

You need to realise something. You are moving to the ME. Your “rights” are what your employer decides are your “rights”. No more, no less. Think about this before you move.

Personally, I’m not going to post company documents online. That said, this is indeed a fact and you will not receive these letters on your departure. Disgusting move from Qatar.

One can't trust what they read on PPRuNe, but I had to ask a couple of friends that are in QR at the moment and unfortunately this is true.

Well, right in the bin goes my potential application to Qatar Airways.

Doesn't it mean that it will not be given automatically, but rather it needs to be requested, and then given?

To what extent, can you request one at least? If this is the case QR have made a mistake, will not bother to continuing either!

That's how it always used to work, go see HR and request it printed.

Am I missing something here? I am in the UK and have never gotten any of the above letters and it has never prevented me from moving to a new job. Just keep copies of your LPC reports etc and it's not like they can pretend you didn't work there

Exactly my thoughts. A previous company I worked at went under. No letters from them but I keep copies of all my training. Hours verification I got from Head of Training at a flight school. Checked my log book and he stamped it. Did create problems getting an airside pass recently, work around was here is my tax forms and bank account showing i worked for said company between blah blah and blah blah. All accepted.

The problem nowadays are the Indian pilots, a lot have been caught out giving fake hours in their logbook, unable to contact DGCA it's a gamble for employers. But put them in a sim and you clearly see an investigation needs to be done. These papers makes it easier for companies to validate.

What fleets are now assigned for DECs with previous WB experience? Are they still sending people to the 737?

Hello everyone :-) Requesting someone from the Qatar Airways talent pool to kindly share any information / update on the approximate wait time in the pool . I am a " Boeing Rated Captain " applicant in the pool since January 2023 . Also if not given a DOJ within 1 year of waiting in the talent pool would the applicant then need to do the assessment again & moved out of the Talent Pool ? Truly appreciate if someone can share an informative response .. Thank you friends in advance !!

They are not a requirement in the UK, but they are in alot of places around the world.
As previously mentioned QR requires these letters on joining and no its not a case of requesting them from HR. Current policy is they will not issue these letters.

That's a long wait. I am thinking they need to see this or you need to nudge them. What happens if you try calling someone who can actually help or another administrator is to afraid of the top ?

No offence, but playing with peoples lives here.

Guys anyone know what happens when you get to QR for the assessment?

- Day One ATPL and Interview
- Day Two Simulator (if called)

Is there any additional COMPASS/CUTE PC based exam or testing to prepare for?

Cheers
SWISS

Seems there are several waiting in the talent pool. If you log in to the careers site, what status is listed? Maybe a clue there if it changed or updated?

@ ThunderLizard - Thank You for the response !
Status is same from Jan 2023 - ' Moved To Talent Pool ' nothing after that .. Seems like the wait is primarily for Boeing Rated Captains & FOs ..

Boeing Type rated pilots

Hello everybody,

I would like to ask you a few questions.
From what I understand, Boeing pilots go directly to the talent pool.

I wanted to ask you if anyone (Boeing type rated) was invited after May 15, 2023 to the interview in Doha.

Thank you
