Thanks lospilotos.
understand then that if you have all the hours flown certified by the companies you have gone thru you are ok, that corroborates all logbook entries, and is much easier than having all former employers signing the logbook, which has to be signed "truhtfully" by its owner anyway.
In my case I am missing entries from several years, but have all those hours certified by the employer, hope that's enough?

Regarding the logbook entries what is the company's definition of flight time as FO in wide body a/c logged in the p2 column? Usually long haul flights are flown with augmented crew. Some companies certify logbooks of crews for the full flight time, others would certify only for the time spent on the controls.

I was sent an email stating I was in the short list pool on Friday but my status still shows app under review. Is this normal and it just takes the system a bit to update? Probably been asked before but good to bring up again for new members.

Simp Check

Hi All,

I've read up on all the sim data, but one part seems unclear. The final segment, the raw data ILS, is that flown single engine (as a hold over from the middle segment) or are you back on two engines for this part? I'm preparing for the worst case, single engine, but any answers would be grand.

Thanks.

had mine very recently:

vfr circuit, no a/p or a/t - just a circuit
v1 cut, standard present company sop's and profile. vectors in for a single engine ils to go around.

the guys were incredibly nice and made me feel at ease the whole time, was a genuinely nice experience, despite the fact is was ****tin my pants.

good luck

Recent fleet allocations for newbies?

BongleBear,

Any word on fleet types assigned to new hires lately? Does it still matter or significantly influence if you have 737NG or Airbus (or other) types/experience in terms of placement?

Is the mix of Airbus/Boeing roughly equal for fleet assignments or does one get more newbies than others? Will that trend continue?

Also, anyone care to speculate on when direct entry A380 FO slots will start (beyond the chap from Singapore who had A380 experience)?

All Airbus for the last couple of rounds. No Boeing courses until late (after) summer.

from what i've been told there is no 777 courses available until the end of the summer, all are booked up till august as it is.

it doesn't matter what your current or last aircraft type is, if you have thousands of hours on a 737 then you will still be put on A330 now. i understand that currently the routes aren't as good on the airbus, but there is the chance of going onto the A380 later on, and when (if) the A350 comes then routes will change and the 330/340 will be gone.

there is currently no one going on to the A380 directly, although i did hear of one pilot rated on it who has gone directly, but this could be speculation, i know, i know, it's not like pilots to spread gossip.

with that all said, please don't shoot the messenger! this is just what i was told during my interviews, i was told things can change any day so bear that in mind too.

good luck to all,

b bear

Same thing!!

They offered me Stage 1 in March (2 days available) and June for Stage 2, or June for both. I chose the second option, and I'm still wondering about Stage 1 material.

Someone said in this forum about (elite) but I'm not sure that they have the right info to prepare one to the interview.

Hello, You all I have been invited to the ATL PSP on march to staga 1 and 2, I couldnt make to the 1, so im just taking 2 the sim, i found very helpful the sim info on page 144, very nice, my times are not that high 2650 tt on the 737 200-300 and emb 145.

I have a big concer about how seriously they take candidates going to PSP's out of Dubai, lets say I pass the sim, which I hope so, how long till they call you for the other stages?

What do you recommend for the compass and pilot aptitud testing?

thanks David.!

David, are you trying to say that you just "skipped" the first part of the selection program, and your just going to do part two? I dont think it works like that, but I could be wrong.

I was sent a short list email about 2-3 weeks ago but nothing yet in terms of an invite to interview, although I am less than 500 short of mins. In fact my app says under review and not short list so I'm thinking they just haven't got around to update it. I have a current B777 type with current time on type as well!
