Must have been my mailer then, I tried both Yahoo and the one built into OS X. Rejected anything >5Mb due "policy".
Put it in the post last Monday.
FMC, just out of interest, when did you apply?
Thanks for the comments.

Hey FMC, what kind of time and experience do you have? I just applied myself through the mail because I couldn't get the online version to work. I'm a CRJ captain in US with around 5000 total and 1500 jet PIC. Do you think this type of time qualifies really for an interview, anyone with knowledge please let me know. Thanks in advance everyone for any input on this.

Prior to stepping upon your podium , you should take note that you are participating on an INTERNATIONAL forum and in most ,if not all jurisdictions other than the FAA , licences in fact do expire .

PDF form problem
OK, I give up.
I have obviously failed the QR initiative test as the PDF file has got the better of me.
I have downloaded the Application form PDF, but every time I go to type data into the PDF form the following a message appears:
'Data typed into this form cannot be saved. Adobe reader can only save a blank copy of this form.'
So how on earth do I fill it out and then email it back (as the form suggests) if I cant save the data. I know I can work around it by filling it in, printing and then scanning it, but that rather defeats the object of an electronic form!
Many thanks in advance for helping a rather slow northerner.

Hi JWFI
I had all sorts of grief with the form as well. You could as you suggest try filling it in,printing it then scanning it back into your computer as a file or files and attaching them to an email. I tried this but the system refused to accept the emails until I reduced them to under 5Mb although others here seem to have managed it.
I eventually sent the thing through the post but since then after a few experiments I discovered that with an Apple you can save a file as a PDF. This I did by taking all the scans and pasting them into a word processing document then used the save as PDF option. Bingo, problem solved.
I have no idea if Office XP or even god forbid Vista will let you do this but its worth a try. QA probably have half a dozen of my applications in various different formats but I think they prefer PDF so if you can get it into that format its probably better.
The only other way to produce PDF documents is to buy, borrow or steal a copy of Adobe Acrobat. It costs a lot of dosh but if you want the job badly enough... If you know someone with a Mac, then the Pages application will read .doc files and save them as a PDF as described above. Buy them a pint and ask nicely.
Alternatively, ditch the PC and get a Mac. Then even if you don't get the job, you will at least have a better computer
This may be part of the selection, under computer literacy in which case I am truly screwed.
Good Luck.

and two eyes..should be enough.
Fubaliera-No joke:
Yes indeed i think for 320 driver we have here in Qr the cheapest condition.
I mean somebody who is experienced on 320 and doesn't want to fly long haul, or is not interesting in layover, he better goes to Air Arabia !
By the way i might be wrong but i don't see the salary condition anymore on the qatar airways website for pilots..?Why?..Did they realised that salary wise they are not competetive anymore in the gulf area compared to neighbouring companies like EK,AA,EY...?

Hi!
By non-expiring license, I think he means that you are current now. The FAA is the only org. I know that gives non-expiring licenses, and sometimes it is awkward on the applications...they ask you when your license expires, but what the really mean (maybe?) is when does your currency expire.
PDF Form:
You can fill the whole thing out, and then email it. I don't see why you would have to save it first. I did NOT want to do that, as was worried about being almost done, and then having a problem.
I paid $20 for PDFIll.com. It works great, and allows me to save the PDF, open it re-edit it, etc. I decided to spend the money as I had had this same problems with PDFs previously with other applications.

PS-I have XP SP3. Macs ARE better, but they are more expensive, and LogBookPro will not run on a MAC.
I think Sonys, Toshibas, Dells, and Intel chips are too expensive, also. I get a PC laptop (none of the 3 above) with an AMD chip. I usually buy a refurbished computer from the manufacturer, via tigerdirect.com.
PPS-Emirates started taking apps 14 Sep, and I heard are planning on starting hiring in Oct.

Real requirements
Hello,
Does anybody know or have experiences that applicants with minimum required experiences were invited for interview. For instance I have 2100 hours of which 1900 is on 737 mostly NG, what just meets criteria for type conversion as stated on QA webpage.
Thanks in advance

FMC
Had a medical there recently and the Doctor was very personable. I asked him about the JAR med and he said it was in the pipeline. The last renewal I did was in DXB. No hassle there!
