@ Bloated Stomach
I saw the "famous" program between CAE and Flydubai!!!
I already asked CTC Wings ARL about their connections with Flydubai and Cadet/ATP. They tell me that there is nothing for the time but they are in negotiation with them.
CTC already asses pilots for Flydubai… So why not.
It will be nice

One of my friend (ATP) get a job by Thomson and it was in March 2012!!!
From my part it's the only ATP who get a job since a while!
I have finished the AQC in October 2012.

@ PLINKY DEL MAYO
Please can you expand on why you believe this to be so?
Clearly myself and Bloated Stomach have similar understandings although perhaps just a little different. The eJ situation is a little more complex, at this moment in time eJ are not considering ATP's, they have no need for any further cadets past the Wings pool. Informally they have indicated that they may reconsider this if and when they need to and that is it. Quite different from comprehensively saying they will consider them. Even so the likelihood that they will even need to call on them is quite remote, there will be plenty of Wings cadets and experienced guys for their intake over the 2014 winter as it stands now.
flydubai I was told is a long term project and will unlikely produce anything until next year....after the ATP clear out.
Jetstar has many issues still to clear up. Mostly immigration among others so again a long shot and nothing to report. On top of this the numbers will be low and unlikely to require the ATP's. Next year they may require more...but the ATP pool will have been flushed by then.
Ryanair I've heard lots of ifs and buts and again nothing to report however my personal opinion is they are simply doing what they do best, use the competition to get a better deal from their current suppliers. If CAE call their bluff then they will use CTC otherwise it's unlikely to change. This and only if this happens might mean there is some movement in the ATP pool.
As for all the non-believers and the guys/gals with "shiny brochure" syndrome sitting in the ATP pool I suggest you forget about it and if something does amazingly turn up before getting kicked out then consider it a bonus!
And again for the hard of hearing AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME... If you don't believe me then ask LW directly. You can call ARL up at any time (however you are unlikely to catch him with all the travelling he does). Things change, get used to it! Also are you absolutely sure it is within the last 2 years, according to ARL, not me, there hasn't been any movement from the ATP pool for the last 2 years (except the Take-Off cadets), again call them and ask them.
Quote:
At this moment in time easyJet, Monarch, Qatar & BA. The exception is that eJ will take the Take-Off pilots.
JD, although I would agree that the ATP scheme is as good as dead, that statement is total utter BS!

MON have not taken anyone officially from ATP since March TR 2012, shortly before last Thomson TR April 2012.
Rather than discussing who doesn't take ATP pilots, wouldn't the pertinent question be is?

Not really true, on the latest ARL update there was a mention of the ATP database but nothing specific. According to the update, Easyjet and Flybe are expected to recruit from CTC in the following months, but no mention of the number of cadets they want; so they want cadets and atps to express their interest in the positions.
Now I believe that there are about 80 swimming in the cadet pool and 90 in the database. If there are enough cadets to fill Easyjet and Flybe positions, then there will be no movement in the database.
Also, the update says something about "specific requirements", but again they do not get into more detail. Does anyone know what these "specific requirements" are?

I have seen the same update from ARL and so can confirm what landing lighter says. As for the special requirements last time round for eJ they were that the pilot trained at CTC either integrated or under their Take Off modular program. I see no reason why that will be changed other than there are not enough candidates.
Do not forget that these selections will be taking place between June and September so that's up to 5 months more CTC cadets going through at >20/month so most likely >160 cadets and I would guess 20+ Take Off pilots too. I would very much doubt that eJ and Flybe together would need more than that.
Although I think it is nice and right that CTC keep all the ATPers in the loop I can't help but think that is all it is. Unless something drastic changes in the coming months I fear early next year you will all simply be flushed out to make room for the next bunch ready to spend 10k on an empty promise.

Why on Earth have CTC opened the ATP Scheme when there are loads of people in the database?
ATP Scheme | Airline Pilot Training | Commercial Pilot Training | CTC Wings
