I better not reply because it's pissing people off. I don't think you're right in what you're saying though - feel free to DM me or talk on the other thread mentioned above

Just completed the online tests today and got above average in all (even if the logical one had me guessing on a couple!) and got an instant invite to digital interview! good luck everyone still waiting...

Is this true about people receiving rejection emails after completing the digital interview? I would've thought they would wait until March to tell everyone?

Hey everyone,
I only found out about this MPL programme today and I would love to apply but due to work I won't have time to sit down, create an account and do the assessments until this evening or tomorrow.
Is there an end date to when they will stop taking applications?

Hey mate, I had to decline the offer since too many things went wrong at once at that time and I had to set my priorities right.

But one thing I can say for sure is this thread will do nothing but create more panic and deteriorate your confidence. They look at so many different things, it’s just not your assessment score, it’s your CV, the wordings, your experiences, cover letter etc etc etc. So instead of trying to relate to other people’s experiences just learn from your own mistakes, keep notes and move on.

If any of you have any specific questions regarding the process, training details do let me know. Please don’t ask me or any of the Cadets what they did differently. It’s only the recruitment team who know what set people apart, the best you can do is be your authentic self and TUI knows exactly who they’re looking for.

They may be being rejected due to other issues, such as not meeting the requirements etc.

It said originally applications close on 31 Jan so I guess they’ll close 23:59 tomorrow. You only have to submit an application by that deadline, if you’re invited to do online assessments you’ll get 5 days to complete them.

Hey guys!

I am an experienced pilot and went through an MPL scheme back in 2018 at FTE Jerez. Before that, I attended over 5 MPL assessments centres and know what rejection is like.

Some advice that will help you.

Always look smart, even on a video interview. Wear a suit and shave and present yourself in the best possible way. Do a few mock interviews with your family, it may help overcome nerves and will make you confident.

When answering your motivation to join a funded MPL scheme, do not say its because it's free (as many are currently doing). You will be rejected and it doesn't look great.

Talk about your passion for a customer centric environment and how TUI will allow you to exceed customer expectations. TUI want their pilots to form bonds with customers and interact with them on the flight deck.

Talk about the longterm opportunities with TUI, such as additional responsibilities like pilot recruitment and pilot training that you can get involved with. You can also bid to do long haul on the 787 if that interests you.

Talk about the business model and how this will offer you a challenging career, such as busy summer flying. The business model is to offer a customer the entire leisure experience from start to finish rather than component parts.

Talk about the environment at TUI, which is basically a family style environment with a management team that genuinely care. Mention how their values (Trusted, Unique, Inspiring) align with your life. With TUI, you will discover your smile.

Like most airlines, TUI want to recruit future Captains and thats what they are looking for straight away. They want to recruit people that are there for the longterm and have thought about both the pro's and con's of being a pilot.

Finally, never ever give up. Your dream will become reality with perseverance. Work hard and you will achieve, trust me I have done it.

You may have done quite well in your view, but these tests are normative based which means the compare the scores with the rest of the norm group.
So if you got 80% for example, which is quite well, but the rest of the group got 85%, then whilst 80% as a standalone grade is good, it's obviously not as good as the 85% comparing it to the group.
That's what these tests do, they compare you to others and that's their criteria
Hope that makes sense
Best of luck going forward

Hey all,
Has anyone heard back from TUI yet? there was some information floating about of people getting rejections but can't confirm.
Also, I wander as a general idea what the Stage 4 assessments/exercises going to be? Was there any information on last year's stage 4 assessments?

I did the video interview mid January, and haven’t heard back, does any one know roughly how many people make it through to the assessment Center?

Digital Interview

For those that got through to the digital interview, can you share the type of questions you were asked?

Were they motivational such as why do you want to become a pilot? Why TUI etc?

Were they situational such as how would I deal with an unexpected problem? How would I deal with an unhappy customer etc?

Or are they competency based such as tell us a time when you demonstrated leadership, tell us a time when you provided excellent customer service etc

I don’t expect you to tell me the exact questions but a little nudge to streamline prep for next year would be appreciated!

I completed my digital interview January 9th (literally a couple of days into the scheme opening). As of yet havent heard anything. On the FAQ pages they say that people who have done their digital interviews can expect to hear back from a few days, up to the 22nd March. No doubt they have thousands of videos to watch, then compare the videos to the online assessment results. It's a painstakingly long wait. Just have to keep fingers crossed. I didn't get further than the video assesment with BA last year, so there's an element of doubt in my mind for TUI, but just have to stay positive.

I know the date says March, but has anyone heard back yet?

would also like to know if there’s any of last years applicants who made it to the assessment centre, was there more tests involved?

Still waiting. Part of a small group on Instagram and none of us have heard yet. Hoping it's a good thing, but also from what ive heard, theres been nearly twice as many applicants this year, so obviously taking their time assessing the digital interviews.
