[qoute] "I have to correct you guys on that one. There are flying restrictions. Seeing as how this is an ab initio program (flight training from scratch) NO individual will be considered with a CPL or above. Any persons carrying a CPL will NOT be considered for this program as they would be deemed over-qualified." [qoute]

Let me get this str8... none of us in North America have yet recieved confirmation about the details and times.... so is everyone going to still go to New York... I mean what is the sense of going to New York if we don't know where to go and if Etihad hasn't sent the details what makes anyone think that they will be still conducting the assessments on the 25th... it will probably be a big waste of money...

Hey buddy, in that case, my apologies for mis-interpreting what you said.
As for Mohamed.. No one has received a '2nd email' for the NA assessments. We are all in the same boat, so we'll just have to wait and see. As for the 25th, they WILL happen on the 25th. Otherwise I will have spent a lot of money JUST to see New York! (Hopefully that would not be the case)...
Say, if anyone is going there for the first time, who did not see the city before, we should meet up after the assessment for sure to check it out. Times Square and all, I heard it's thee place to see. Never been, but looking forward to checking it out!

These pictures were taken by my brother (ZaaZoo) and a friend of ours from a flight to New Jersey from my home airport in NY...enjoy...& post some of yours!
Me doing a preflight
In cruise over New Jersey
My friend Tim as co-pilot
Banking over the scenery
On final...I love how this airport is nestled in the tress
Short Final
Taxiing In
Okay, so originally our purpose for going to this airport was to eat at the restaurant which is right by the runway.......
...but it was closed so we got some sodas and snacks form the bar around the corner from the restaurant....but while we waited for the bartender to fry up our chicken wings I told Jon my bro and Tim my friend to walk up to the side of the runway and I would do a little air show for them....the result a low pass that resulted in a steep climb, a russian pilot in the area saw it and while on the unicom freq he said "hey man very nice takeoff". I felt so cool until I had to drop the nose in order to get my airspeed back, it felt like i was pushing -.5 g's, I tinkled a little bit as a result, just a little.....
Showing off the G1000
Climbout
Approaching KJFK (upper left hand side of the pic, with Floyd Bennet field directly under the nose)
The city off to the left
Me turning to the right direct to KFRG
Landing of runway 19 at KFRG, I fly at night whenever I can it's awesome!!!!!

"cadets per year.
This position is accountable to the Head of UAE cadet pilot program and EVPO Operations/Accountable Manager who is accountable for 24 cadet pilot per year."
Though I am not sure of this, I think it is exactly what it says... Accountable for UAE cadet pilot program, NOT the International cadet pilot program!
As for the second email, still haven't received it yet. But it's not all that bad. We know that we are invited for the assessment, we know it will be in New York on the 25th of August, it is probably fair to assume it will be at a near by hotel close to JFK. So just book your tickets, and be there for the 25th. If you are there on the 24th then just cab it to the interview place on the morning of the 25th. I am pretty confident they will let you know by the 24th anyway. So, no worries guys.

hey skhan don't forget that the program was originally for those UAE nationals however it has been extended to the rest of the world (you, me and bradda g) This person would take care of all the cadets. There is one program.
Awesome idea...if we don't make it we should all apply to the position and send each other through (I can't stop laughing while I type that, because I know someone from Etihad is gonna see it)

For us EU guys, has anyone had a good speculate as to whether there is an advantage to choosing the august or oct/nov second stage assessment? Seeing as the results of the US tests won't have been processed by the end of this month, there could potentially be less competition in the August tests. Any thoughts or anyone in "the know"?
