Hi E34.

I was at her last course in December last year, and I know that she was about to move south to France due to a new job she got there. But as I could understand it, then she would continue with the courses as soon as she was finished with her new Typerating course ect. - and I think that would be after january this year, so must be just about now i guess.

But I don't know where and when.

Her phone number is most likely invalid now, but try on e-mail: [email protected] or webpage: www.pilotinterviews.co.uk

I can recommend her big times. After the course I went to a few interviews with companies that I had no intention of joining, just to prepare for the one I was aiming at, and I came out off all of them with thumbs up from the interviewers..... including the ones in the company I wanted to join, and the contract is now signed

Thanks Penny

And good luck E34. Hope you get in contact with her. The money is well worth it

Interview Books?

Good day all, I am in need of some advice.

I shall shortly be ready to apply to the airlines for a job (along with countless others!) and I am thinking about buying several books to read up on before hand, to be prepared as possible.

Can anybody recommend any?

At present I am looking at:

Mental Math for Pilots: A Study Guide
Ace the Technical Pilot Interview

I was also trying to get a hold of the "Pass you Cathay Pacific Interview" book. Im not sure if that is the correct title, but its similar.

If anybody has any recommendations, or feedback from the above, it is kindly appreciated.

Many Thanks
dlav

Grrr

Dlav,

With regard to the Cathay book it is called Preparing for Your Cathay Pacific Interview, The Pilots Guide. The ISBN number is ISBN 0-9682836-0-8. Is has some good stuff in it, including a technical quiz, which is not only used by CP. Be careful with the Ace the Technical Pilot Interview book, as there are a fair few errors in it in the answers. On saying that, it is not a bad tool to use for questions, but use your ATPL notes to supplement your study.

Of course use the search function on PPRUNE, as there is alot of good stuff about various different airlines and their recruitment process.

Good Luck.

Preparing for Your Cathay Pacific Interview is great if you are going for an interview with Cathay. Are you? No.

The Ace Pilot Technical Interview is great if the airline that has asked you for interview are renoun for asking tough questions. Are they?

I have only ever been to two airline interviews and only ever passed two airline interviews and not one of them ever asked a single quesion about aircraft.

You'd be much better off as a fresh faced fATPLer, competing against the other 900 equally qualified newbies, reading books such as Great Answers to Tough Interview Questions...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Great-Answer.../dp/0749435526

Good luck

I've been to 1 and they asked about swept wings, which is a common question, which i happened to read in 'Ace the Technical Pilot Interview' the night before.

It's a great book and well worth buying, if not an interesting read too. Amazon stock it, it's also on ebay.

Oh and welcome to the hunt!

Hi All

Got BA interview in 2 weeks.

Had heard that there are some aptitude test programs out there that are very similar to the ones that BA use. Does anyone have any info?

One more thing, there used to be a DEP selection process blurb on this site. Can't seem to find it now, any ideas?

Thanks

Smile What to wear for Training and Interview/s.

I remember reading on here sometime ago, someone asking what they should wear for interviews, assessments etc.

My advice would be, dress to impress! Have some class and purchase a suit like Crokett and Tubbs used to wear in Miami Vice and a nice pair of shoes . First impressions go along way, during the first five minutes of meeting a potential candidate. Oh and please try and take your personality along with you, if you have one, to the interview!

The link below, should cheer some people up in here, who are currently finding it really difficult to find that first job.

Hang in there ladies and gentlemen, have faith and be positive!

PS. The training captain, sounds and looks cool, in this clip . The F/O looks like he's enjoying himself

Spitfire, base check was awseome and I've now got jet time in the logbook! We were pretty light and the performance was great... approx 8 times quicker climb rate than the last thing I flew!

Can't wait to strap it back on with some pax on board.

Good luck all, the effort is well worth it... this has taken me many many years and lots and lots of hardwork. Started flying in 1998 as a PPL. ATPLs in 2004/5. Instructing 2006. Jet 2007...

Question Boeing V Airbus interview questions

I need some help with the argument of Boeing versus Airbus debate that may come up in an interview situation.
What shall I mention about the two manufacturers? Should my argument be a technical, financial or just pilot prefered based?
Thank you in anticipation.

I'm not sure in what context you think the Boeing versus Airbus 'argument' should come up? That's a frivolous argument for the bar and for slow days on Pprune! If you wish to educate yourself on the technical differences between the two so that you can hold an intelligent discussion on the topic, that's a different matter - and such knowledge can reasonably be expected of an applicant to a company that has, for example, left the Boeing fold for Airbus (easyJet) or flies both types in similar roles and routes (British Airways).

Well saying you have no weakness's is a weakness in it's self, as you fail to see any weakness in yourself may lead people to believe you're too confident....there's your weakness.
everyone can improve on something in flying, there is no such thing as the perfect pilot. point out a weakness or a past weakness which you are or have already ironed out due to something you have done to correct it or are in the proccess of correcting and they'll see that you are driven to self improve. they don't want people who are content with being just ok or good enough, they want people who want to always improve, learn new things, approaches and just simply maintain high standards for themselves.

hope this helps....
