Interview prep course tomorrow

Hello!
I am driving to Kent tomorrow to attend an interview preparation course.
Was just wondering if anybody else is from the Bristol area who needs a lift or would want to come with me and share fuel costs??
Cheers

I'm sure they'll teach you not to put anything in your CV regarding this very course you are going to attend!

I've got an interview on Thursday and it's a great looking job which I am in the process of seeling my grandmother for - (low milage one careful owner- offers?)

Can anyone give me some useful sites other than the company's that I can continue my research with.

Is it too late to visit Penny for the interview advice?

Useful Info To Prepare for Interview. With clear answers

Dear Colleques.
Sometimes when asked for info Interview, Sim & Recruiting Process the replies are very much internally political. This is of no use for those who need this info.I would like to start a thread with useful info for those who need it. There is always bad and good things in every company. That is not usually what is asked for.

Useful Links.
http://www.smartcockpit.com/

This thread above has Manuals for every Airbus and Boeing Aircraft which can be downloaded. Also there is a Instructors Corner, Profiles and Other Info.
If you go into Swissknife in the main menu you will find lots of Boeing, Airbus, CAA and other publications which can be downloaded. 99% of those documents are in .PDF form. Also there are links to other useful webpages.

http://jetthrust.com/

This thread above I suspect is a North American Thread. It is in the same format as pprune. You will need to create a username and password (just like in pprune) with no oblications. There you can download the complete Cathay Pacific interview gouge in .pdf and .doc format.

http://www.airbusdriver.net/

This thread above is the unofficial Airbus Study Site.

http://www.aviationinterviews.com/
http://willflyforfood.cc/

These sites above you will find Interview Gouge for several airlines.

There is very much useful info on pprune.org
However I think there is more missing of clear answers to our colleques who are looking for jobs.

Hopefully this thread will be of more useful info with clear answers only and no useless sarcasm.

I wish you all a very happy new year.

Interview Training

I remember reading somewhere on pprune ages ago about a BA Pilot (think she is female) doing interview training and cv prep in Kent. Has anyone got any info relating to this i.e. contact details? Also if anyone has got any other suggestions I am happy to hear. Sorry about asking this if has been discussed recently, but I have tried the search function and couldn’t find anything relative.

Cheers

Try those two links:

www.pilotinterviews.co.uk

and as an alternative

www.pittraining.co.uk

Don't know much about either but I read good reviews about both of them here on pprune. Good luck!

Apptitude/Assesment day revision

What sort of books are there out there / would you recommend that would help with apptitude/assesment testing i.e. the maths and physics? I was looking at GSCE revision books etc but they're all a bit mickey mouse.

How did you guys get through the dreaded tests?

Hi Captain,

There are 3 books that I was recommended to get for airline interviews and testing. Having read through them, my mathematical and technical knowledge has greatly improved and would definately recommend them.

1.) How to Pass: Numerical Reasoning Tests (intermediate) by Heidi Smith
-A step by step guide to learning key numeracy skills

2.) How to Win at Aptitude Tests by Paul Pelshenke
- A complete course with examples, explanations, practical tips and solutions.

3.) Ace the Technical Pilot Interview by Gary V. Bristow
- 988 Q&As
- 66 technical illustrations
- 11 major categories
- 25 worldwide airlines researched

All of these books are great for preparation, especially number 3, which goes into great detail. I'm not at the interview stage yet but will certainly feel happier after reading these.

Hope this helps,

Hi

Please dont buy Bristow's book.there are too many errors in it that too not typo errors but major ones.Dont know if they have come up with a new edition correcting those errors.

Just be cautious in buying bristow's book.

Thanks for the heads up on the inaccuracies. Better to find out now before the serious preparation starts.

atpl theory and selection

hello everybody,

I think you are agree that a lot things in ATPL theory is "not important"
and my opinion, the theory course in 6 or 12 month is too short to remember all subjects... I have passed my atpl theory 4 months ago, and today i do not remember all details (like cat I,II,III, air law, procedures etc)
I remember just the big detail...

-So during an airline selection, which Part is really important to remember ?? which question are often asked ??

- When you have passed your theory, do you revise subject again ??

at the moment I am revising a littile but when I see all these books, the first question i wonder : which part I am going to revise ?? and How could I learn all these informations ???

thank you very much!

An interview at last!!!

Hi all!

Some great news has come along at last

I have been invited for interview as an F/O on the 737, I'm rated 300-900 but with 0 hours on type.

A quick question really, at interview I have to sit a 737 (classic) technical question test and a general aviation test aswell. I have been told that there are some 737 classic questions on boeing.com, but I can not find them.

Can anyone recommend some pre interview reading material? Most of my studying has been NG based, so I need to hit the books hard.

I have the 737 cockpit companion already.

Cheers

Cheers.

That is a great website, no doubt about that.

I do not know what to expect from the general aviation and operations tests though
