don't want to be polemic, but...sorry, as someone else said, a new company can hire who wants and where wants...and no national caa can lock an aoc's delivery using the words "1st national crew, later foreigner...or no aoc!"...each company can do what want!!! ...about the info i gave, are coming from the compamy, and i don't have any reason not to belive the recruiters (underline the plural!)....if they don't tell us the true...is not our problem. and....if it's like this, sorry, any info i'll have, i'll take for me! bye bye

Hi guys,

Just a quick question.

From what I know Avsem group bought Eagle Aviation and they will place the 15 Fokker F100s they got under the Eagle AOC, does somebody have any info on that?.

Thanks and regards.

All as clear as mud. But ´Hey-ho´not a lot we can do. Not the first and certainly wont be the last airline that is giving limited info. I guess they can give more defo info once AOC given until then - wait.

Positive v negative

Guys, I just wana say that its a bit tired now the way a number of you are saying 'dont be negative', lets be positive...blah blah. Im all about being positive in my life, but at the end of the day...being optimistic about something only has an affect on attitude..and doesnt actually change the way things are or will be! It will either work out right, or it wont! AND being negative, doesnt change the way things actually are or will be..it only changes how you feel about things. But it will still only work out...or it wont. So bottom line is....this whole thing might turn out great...it might turn out awful....optimistic or pesimistic....what it comes down to is.....who is willing to take the risk....and who feels that the risk is not worth it for them? Thats all it is.

Hey Rachel,
You are absolutely right.
Being more accurate, I would add : what's the point in taking the risk if you join with a negative look at it... it can only turn out bad then.
As a general rule : things are nothing on their own, they only exist through our eyes, so let's try and make them good.

well gear to be honest thats not exactly what i was trying to say. What I actually meant was.. in this particular case, where we have no control over the outcome...our attitudes dont actually matter too much right now. What will be, will be. regardless of how we see it. Being optimistic is nice but it wont make Eagle a good company..and being sceptical about it wont make Eagle a bad company. Its either good or its not you know? Im not saying lets all be negative.

Its like....believing in Santa Clause doesnt make him real! And refusing to believe in the truth doesnt make it go away. Whats is, is and what isnt, just isnt. I hope that makes my point clearer.

It was clear from the start : i know what you meant, and i remember you had given it up ;-) (i was just trying to play Mr Philosophy )
On my side, I still hope sth good can come out of it.
I've already been disapointed in the past by airlines I had joined, so I do not have huge expectations, but as long as there's no flight, there's no reason to be disapointed is there ? I'm just trying to be patient and when the day finally comes that i receive a real offer, i'll look at it very carefully.
In the meantime, i'm still happy flying for my current airline.

no, the AOC will not be in September.

What Mutt, Flex, silverware, Max, etc are saying is probably true. Management of old Eagle have screwed a lot of personnel and companies, including Saudia, so it is good to go with open eyes into this operation. Ask yourself why a company that was making millions every month went bancrupt and where the money is now...

Azerbaijan makes sense: a certain percentage of Arabic speakers is needed (and usually required), French is pretty much useless for Umrah and Haj flights. Farsi not needed this year, so why not Azerbaijanis?

A few words about the conditions mentioned in that post. Maybe difficult to know what really is on offer if you haven't been here before:

1000USD is more than what others offer.
50EUR per diems is also more.
the round trip ticket is not free, you have worked for it. - How often?
how much do they take out of your salary for insurance?
vaccination: not true, that is free in Saudi Arabia. Even if Eagle wanted to pay for it, they couldn't.
work permit: you will not get one, just like the other wetlease companies. You will get a six month visa at a cost of under 10 Euro.
Cabin crew of the same sex usually share one room.

On the plus side: other wetlease ops for SV currently pay less than half the salary.

hope this clears things up a little. cheers IP

PS: pity Mutt felt he had to withdraw his comments. they were accurate and helpful with people making life changing decisions.

PPS: Will not be online for a good few days. ta.

Should I laugh or cry ?
Depending on where the info comes from, it is September in London, October in Amsterdam, August in Paris...
Let's laugh instead of crying until "official" information is given
You guys take care and fly safe !
