With their past track/ accident record MK should not be allowed to fly to any
European/US/Canadian destination.

The sooner they are closed down the better

Closing down should not happen. Lots of good people still employed. They should just get rid of the bad apples that are just taking all the well earned money.

I posted after the Halifax accident that this operation should be shut down.

Overworking crews and pushing maintenance to the limits on old past their sell by date airframes.

And there are others.

Anyone who has routed through Ostend over the last 30 years has seen all those tired old worn out freighters that do the Africa run.

They were by far not the worst !

And all the accidents you mention happened as they were still 9G registred.

Ostend

Those were the days!! I operated in Oostende from 1985 to 1998. It was a miracle that we did have more incidents in those days.
We used to leave OST to LAD and then to NBO /CAI and back to OST with no crew rest. LONG DAYS AND NIGHTS.
But we were tough in those days.
These days the eyes are everywhere with more oversight.
I still miss those days flying the B707

I used to pass through Oostende mid 80's to pick up the very cheap avgas being sold there at the time. There would be GA aircraft from everywhere flying in at weekends to fill up.

The terminal was empty and dirty.

The old tired and stained 707's, some carrying names like Air Afrique and others with no livery, stood out as a reminder there was another form of aviation.

I often wondered what sort of pilots flew those old rustbuckets for a living.

I think the staff leaving at top are not part of the great clear out, more out of choice! maybe they are cleverer than thay look!! Rats leaving ship spring to mind!

Unfortunately the MK "Can Do" Attitude does not equate to "Can do - Management!!"

hope the good guys get a new job soon

Lets hope it works out ok for the people concerned & as far as I know no one has been told that they need a new job, not yet anyway. There are a lot of very good people in MK something that seems to be forgotten at times.

Just the ex AAI B747 that was attached. They owe big bucks for lease payments on that ship.

Doubt anyone would do a C Check for them without a substantial upfront payment which they dont have.

They've got adverts for Quality Assurance people.

Guess the pot can't be completely empty, or is there a white knight coming in from Cyprus

Understand they have one aircraft grounded in JNB for an engine change and another one stuck in AUH due outstanding bills ! How many does that leave actually flying ?

Your are so right hydroplane, the nonsense you find in the forum is incredible.

Anyway, I am hearing MK bought the B747-8 option from CV and will now be the launch customer.
