MK Airlines banned from movements Filton
 

Due to owing thousands in rent at Filton MK Airlines have been stopped from any movements until they pay up.
Is it not you do the decent thing MK, and pay up what you owe to the management at Filton Airport who have stood by you through the bad times or are you getting ready to scarper somewhere else and take advantage of another provider?

If this is true..
 

..Filton management have at their disposal a number of legal remedies... the most effective of which is available when an MK aircraft is on the ground at Filton. (Clue: Chain,truck, nose-wheel etc).

It is all not worth, it will give Filton a huge amount of costs for courtaffairs, for a company that has barely 2 of its 9 aircrafts flying anymore.

The remaining frames can stand there for another 10 years ( as is the case here in Brasilia where 3 transbrasil 767 are parked up for more then 10 years now as well as some vasp frames)

And where are they going to sell these frames, nobody wants it anymore.

Even the 2 brandnew CargoB/NCA B747-400 are flown back into the desert in the US, one had 7 months duty, the other one 1,5 month, and are awaiting better times.

Now with only 2 frames left, one has to ask how all costs of parked aircrafts can be absorbed with a reduced revenue.

MK have taken a short term wet-lease of a B747-400F from World Airways and also have an MD11F (also from World) for a flight operating tomorrow night. World Airways would only operate with all the money paid in advance by MK for the estimated block hours etc so it would appear that MK can find the money when they want to.

Except when it comes to paying the crews!

Great policy -

until every airfield you want to fly to tells you to get lost, for fear of being lumbered with some huge rust-bucket blocking up their plot.

in all case, if they use the cargo B planes, they will save 17-21 % on the fuel with an extra payload on top.

and the japanese will be happy their birds are flying again. Apparently these are not the only-400 freighters parked in the desert.

Some of the parked Aircraft are only due C checks and a couple are due overdue AD's so probably cheaper to fix these than keep getting other old 747 and putting on Register?

And if they cant afford to fix a 200F they have no chance of affording the spares on a 400F! although they will save 30% crew costs instead of 20% but loose the best crewmember!

Besides Mike got you a 748 already, unfortunately it has HS instead of B in front of it!

I gather it's even worse then. Acquiring MKJA is cheaper then a B-check? It makes one wonder in strange ways... are we missing something here? With the recent illegal landing in Lungi (West Africa/ Sierra Leone becoming a narco-area) etc... and MK being controlled by mysterious funds and mighty people operating against there will from doggy tax heavens etc... Hopefully not the case but it seems odd for a very Rich investor not to invest in the basics of maintenance and correct employment of staff!

a G1, 727 and Robinson as private toy although not worth much would have been better spent on wages and fixing planes.

I know of one aircraft parts provider who supplied parts to MK and then took the financial hit when MK went into Administration. This reputable provider then agreed to supply parts to MK post-administration (grave mistake in my view) and guess what ? Yes, they are now owed money again and all efforts to get paid seem to be futile so far ! Slap a 'repairers lean' on MK maybe the answer. It's hard enough doing business in the current aviation market without not getting paid for what you actually do. :*

Prehaps they need to "lean" on MK in order to get paid. Plenty of less reputable debt collection agencies available for this kind of work.:E

A repairer's LIEN relates to (now wait for this...) a REPAIR! That is to say, an act of rectification, repair, service, overhaul or modification during which one or more replacement or new parts/components were fitted... and the REPAIRER'S legal right to retain possession of the repaired vehicle/aircraft until such time as the outstanding charges are paid.

So how does a parts-supplier fall into that category then?

Printer friendly page Magistrate Stephen Conteh of Court No.1 in Freetown has acquitted and discharged the two pilot of a mysterious plane that recently landed at the Lungi International Airport without official authorization.
Edwin Hamilton and Bruce Younge were both discharged ON Monday 7th September 2009, after being fined the sum of US$20,000 (Twenty Thousand United States Dollars).
The two were ordered by the magistrate to submit their passports to the court until their fine obligation is fulfilled.
Magistrate Stephen Conteh however, warned that the passports of the pilots, plus all title deeds submitted to the court by the sureties, be immediately handed over to the rightful owners upon payment of the fine.
Reports have it that a plane that reportedly left Ndjamema in Chad landed in Sierra Leone on the night of Tuesday 25th August 2009 without official landing permit.
Before the plane could finally land, the pilot through the Air Traffic Control Tower allegedly informed that he had a landing permit, but failed to read out the serial number of the permit when asked to do so, on grounds that it was locked in his brief case.
He then reportedly proceeded to inform the control tower that he can’t go any further on grounds that the plane had run out of fuel. It was eventually allowed an emergency landing permit by the airport authorities.
The decision of the Magistrate to hand down the verdict on the accused person came in the wake of several adjournments requested and granted the defence counsel.
