Panalpina

Charter man, Panalpina has a little problem with the European Commission as well :
"Last month Panalpina was served with a Statement of Objections by the European Commission (EC) relating to alleged anti-competitive behavior."
In March CEO Frei stepped down for "personal reasons".

Panalpina profit plunge / March 2010 / News / Home - Air Cargo World for the latest aviation news & special reports about the air cargo industry.
For those who prefer some German:

Franken. (sda)”

Mk Update

Further to my email on Monday, I had hoped to be able to give more
positive news today, but the advisors are still currently processing and
analysing all the information given to them.

I am told that we should have a decision in the next 48 hours as to the
way forward for the company. Therefore, all staff should remain on
"official leave" until further notice. I will give a further
update by Friday afternoon.

Regards
Mike

so it seems the staff are being tortured a further 2 days .niiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!!

He has his nerve, telling staff that hasn't been paid for months, that they are on "official leave".

official leave?

so, the staff is on "official leave" that is paid leave, the staff have not been paid ,hence paid-unpaid leave? there is security at mk,presumably from stopping the staff or creditors (actually staff are the creditors!) getting in. i am smelling a very big unwholesome rat............

Oh, the joys of "cut and paste"!

You boys really don't have anything better to do with your time, do you?

Funny how when you are asked NOT to post things on the Net, the very first thing you do is.... cut and paste!

Well done gents, what a great way to ensure that anyone who Googles MK, finds out the very best side of what they have to offer..... a bunch of griping, whinging, whining jobs-worth Drongos! Are you still able to walk, talk, get another job - or would you prefer the old "they did me over so bad, I deserve to be on the Dole" route?

Do you realise that you are completely destroying the efforts of all those hard-working individuals who worked for this company in the 15 years before you, who came into the office unpaid, and those who worked on the line for months recently with no pay, having to sell houses, cars and furniture to feed their families.

Sit and think about this one for a moment (sit on your hands if you have to - that may mean that you have to stop smashing crisps into your gob for a moment or two... can you handle that?)... and I'll keep it down to 2 options so you don't get too confused -

Option a) - "cut and paste" everything onto a thread on the Net

Option b) - do what the other people have asked you to do, and let them do their job

Now which of these complicated options do you think is going to pay you more dividends in the end? (that is, do you want to paid in Internet kudos, or cash?)

I know which option I would choose... let the people who know what they are doing do their jobs, and STFU.

It's the wiser choice.

Now do those of us who prefer NOT to cut and paste everything a favour, and....... STFU!

What a ridiculous statement!
I'd say the destroying was done by management and NOT those hard working people who have sacrificed ALL they had to help out this company!

It is hardly some postings on a "rumour" network that did this thing in and those who complain these posts are hurting MK are daft and seeing the world through rose coloured glasses! Seriously....some of you are loyal to a fault! Flippin ridiculous!

Let me see, what does MK have to offer....NOTHING!

My (temporary) apologies to Lamb Shank...

I will completely agree with this!

It is hardly some postings on a "rumour" network that did this thing in.

Of course some postings on a "rumour network" didn't cause these things... but it isn't helping the cause either when these bitching little wenches "cut and paste' everything onto this particular network. If they just STFU then things would be a lot better for everyone all around - we have our guys doing their thing... leave them alone.

So help the rest of the guys out here and tell the winghing(sp), whining, crying little bitches to STFU and let the guys who know what is going on do their thing and then everyone else will see the light at the end of the tunnel?

Either that, or else just STFU....YSC!

Bart.....everyone is allowed to have their say and express their feelings. It's a rough time for all at the moment. Perhaps these 'bitching little wenches' as you so politely refer to them have no other way of showing their frustrations.

I have remained silent until now. I would just like everyone to acknowledge the brilliance of MKs management. Sure we all criticised them when the decided to employ a volcanolagist, we all said "That guy can't be worth the six figures he is getting" On his advice the AOC was handed in because it was know we wouldn't be flying anyway. A masterstroke of forward planning and one that will ensure we are burning four holes up and down Africa again as soon as the ash clears.

scrivenger makes a good point. Those who have little say so in day to day operations have no other outlet but this network.

My understanding is that when items were brought to the attention of management, many were ignored. I also know that many senior crew made mention of cost saving ways to help MK that were ignored by management. Perhaps since they did not think of it themselves it was shelved.

What I DO KNOW is that dozens of really fine people gave all they had and more to the continued operation in spite of no pay, loss off benefits, loss of credit ratings, loss of homes, autos and more and were summarily made redundant in a failing economy.
