The next variant on Omicron (BA2) is showing signs it could be more severe than plain Omicron. The govt here would do better getting as many people fully vaccinated (with BioNTech) and those that don't want to should be offered a quarantine space or a hotel room until the Omicron/BA2 strain passes - the rest of us should be allowed to restart our lives.
The great unwashed here haven’t heard of that variant. And frankly they don’t care. I know which system I’d rather have.

The government have been busy testing everyone for Covid and have found lots and lots. Covid has been testing the government for signs of an intelligent , competent and coherent plan to deal with it and found nothing. There is no government exit strategy from this, just more restrictions, more restrictions, more restrictions. Two years and this is all looking like Groundhog Day.
Yes, but what on earth are those six people at the desk doing? And why does it need six people to oversee and supervise all those empty beds?
