This year 2010 will be interesting. Captain 4 about to quit and 2 first officers in next month. This company Hong Kong Airlines should try to better this package. We can go to Shenzhen now and set up for future in 5 short years. Pay 14700 each month and I can go home to family for one month in 3.
Korea airlines advertising every day and month and Air China also with such better package for A330. And All airlines better package to fly Boeing. Train pilot for 8 airbus and then they stay and not leave to better place.... HAHA

Future Expansion Plan
As the company is confident in the future of aviation industry in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Airlines is expanding worldwide with the purchase of four A330-200 wide-body aircrafts that will provide a more comfortable journey for travelers starting next year. The expansion into Moscow and Istanbul will be the first of many international routes that the company is developing in the coming years. Hong Kong Airlines has kick-started with a recruitment drive for additional 400 flight attendants to service these new routes. Selected candidates will commence training in early 2010.

Nobody will employ these clowns with a bare bones A330 endorsement, so I think HKA can rest easy that they won't be getting the endorsement and leaving the next day.
Some airlines will employ DECs with 500 on type but most are 1000, although they could get an F/O position which is more than they are capable of anyway.

For 737 jobs in Asia now earn 15000. Demand and supply. Look at pilots now start to leave.

ok Wait 12 months then look at HKA A330 firsts pilots walk away. Korean is also bad? No problem at least earn some better money, have some stabilty. It is easy to be better than HKA.

I am new to this roumor. It does not surprise me though. I have four expat and one Indonesian friend at AHK and they have been lied to and cheated from the beginning. 
So I hear through the grape vine the promised pay rise is no longer.

I can't believe what pussies pilots have become. I might be an old fart but I can assure you 20 to 30 years ago all pilots would have walked off the job. And found creative ways to overcome the held in China against their will bit.
This is the age off pay to fly, pay for your own training and backstab your fellow pilots to get ahead etc etc. And look where it has got all of us. Worsening pay and conditions. We used to be looked upon by society as professional white collar workers such as doctors and lawyers. Today we are relegated to mere machine operators.
Get your bloody spine back and walk tall and start to cost the company millions by uplifting extra fuel, dropping the gear at 60 miles etc and do it as a united team. If they don't get the bloody hint. Park the aircraft at exotic locations and desert en masse.
So stop winging like a bunch of little girls and get to battle stations and teach these dishonest, cheating, lying parasites a lesson.

Just like it to be known, we never tried to bring down the singa management. They are quite successfully doing that themselves. We were just merely putting the truth out. I am definitly not bitter or feeling like a loser for my time at HKA. Quite the opposite. I'm very glad to know that there are people out there worse than me, tsembeit and asian prat definitly come under that category.

True tsimbeit....however, you cant begin to compare CX B scales with HKA payscales....things like "chalk and cheese" spring to mind Comparitively, B scales are still competative in the market....how long for is another thread entirely!

I am an A330 Captain that might join you in the next couple of months, if, and only if, what your management said to me is true. Any chance for you to answer me what is your true average monthly salary? How much you pay for your house? What is the immediate action that the company could do to keep you from leaving? The lowest in Hong Kong with average of last 12 month about 68,000 Hong Kong for captain.
see for yourself. Do your homework. Hong Kong rental property - Square Foot Select Hong Kong Island, rent small 1200-1500 square feet and 3 bedroom and see the results. 35,000 a month minimum in an old noise area. This is why other companies in Hong Kong pay housing allowance to pilots. Not HKA. You get nothing. Your other option is to live in Tung Chung and rent for 16,000 each month. But Tung Chung is dead. So boring and you can not walk 5 minutes without seeing 5 co-workers knowing everything about your lifes. If you want to save money you can do what some F/O do and rental in a village but it is only chinese and there are dangerous gang. These F/O are forced to rent here because they can not have money to live any other place. Also Hong Kong is very expensive city. Most expensive in the world. You do not save money here on this wages with no house allowance.

The Office and HR They hate pilot and resent that you make more money than them and try to do everything to save money, always pilot and air hostess pay for it. These are 2 groups that did not get pay rise. They also had largest pay cut. Office worker and managers got payrise 6 month ago.
