You mentioned that you've got 2 Network Connections set up
Are you sure that the 2nd one (Realtek RTL8139) is definitely set up for Auto DHCP, Auto DNS, nothing hard coded? And just to be sure, the first one too? No sign of the rogue 192.168.1.9 anywhere?

For Realtek - under General Properties - TCP/IP, it states "Obtain an IP Address automatically"
"Use the following DNS server addresses :
Preferred: 192.168.1.9
Alternate: 64.245.166.16
Under Alternate Config, it states "Automatic Private IP address"
For 1394
Under General Properties: Obtain an IP address automatically
Obtain DNS server address automatically
Under Alternate Configuration: "Automatic Private IP Address"
Does that help or did I not answer your question? If you needed something else, please explain.

Okay, your internet connection is trying to use the Realtek network connection and it is picking up the Preferred: 192.168.1.9 and Alternate: 64.245.166.16 - we can tell that from the following in your earlier post:
Can you try putting the settings on the Realtek the same as are on the 1394:
Reboot after the change if necessary. Does that make any difference?

It is fixed! I happened to talk to someone this afternoon who is a software engineer and he came to my house and in less than 5 minutes, he fixed it.
I am not sure all he did in the few minutes but when he saw the dns servers: 192.168.1.9, he said that was not correct and he reset it and voila it hooked up to the internet right away.
Hopefully it will stay that way.
Thanks all of you for trying to help.
