Can you try putting the settings on the Realtek the same as are on the 1394:
Under General Properties: Obtain an IP address automatically
Obtain DNS server address automatically
Under Alternate Configuration: "Automatic Private IP Address"
Reboot after the change if necessary. Does that make any difference?
