We will even accept the imposition of one down.

Well, it is Xmas, so why did you strike in the first place again?

I only know what BASSA tell me and I believe that 100%.

A strong result will see 10000 wonderful people withdrawing their labour, and maybe even more.

Even the strike breakers I speak to are going out this time.

The new CEO will be forced to back down and we will have our 4 points and the hat wearing fleet will be no more.

I sense a great fear on this forum because deep down people know that this time we will win.

It has a serious side to it though.....

Throughout history certain 'leaders' have exerted extraordinary influence over the people they purport to lead, no matter how extreme or dangerous their beliefs. How is it that they can establish such control over certain groups. DH appears to have whatever it takes, you have to admit.

Scary!

All we want is the 4 points and New Fleet disbanded. We will even accept the imposition of one down.

Is that such a big ask?
Yes that is a huge ask. It is deluded to think elsewise. If it were a simple thing BA would have done it months ago. The problem is tha UNITE have not been reasonable at any stage of the process. The things that they will or will not accept changes at each pass.

There has been no regard to cost savings and when savings have been considered as a loan they have been massively overstated by BASSA. They (BASSA) have run illegal ballots and have refused to negotiate, they have even been involved in fisticuffs with other union reps, they have set up pornographic websites in puerile attempts to discredit other associations.

They have subverted the democratic processes of their own constitution to stay in power - no ballot on union officers until the dispute is over. There have been more childish depictions of the CEO with devil eyes and pants. The UNITE leadership have twittered during ACAS meetings.

The strikes which have failed to win anything for the cabin crew are BASSA are now looking to repeat have cost the company a lot of money, hence NF was brought into being. It had been off the table at one point but BASSA's superior negotiating skills brought into being. This to recover the costs incurred.

So yes it is a huge ask for BA to roll over and die at BASSA's new hissy fit.

Once we have our victory things will start to get back to normal led by BASSA.
No. This whole dispute has been about BA's right to manage their operation without interference from BASSA. One thing you can safely guarantee about this dispute is that once it is over the relationship between BA and BASSA will be fundamentally different and BASSA will not be leading anything. They may well be able to engage in meaningful discourse with the company but they will not be able to dictate anymore.

It's the same "rubbish offer" that crew continually vote no too. Not one compromise even for the non cost items. The man is deluded, if he thinks dividing the work force further will end this dispute. It's just another classic union busting technique, which I an guarantee will spectacularly backfire. I'm sorry, but I do not trust BA to honour any part of my new contract, and without a strong union our demise will only be quicker.

Is the message finally getting through (it did to UNITE bosses) that this is the best deal that you are going to be offered?

Repeating the failed tactic of striking is hardly going to make it better, else this tactic would have already produced a better offer.

So BASSA want MF disbanded. Which means sacking some 400+ staff. How wonderfully socialist ! Amazing when you think that at some point MF would be looking for union representation. Looks like GMB will get a foothold in cabin crew.

Oh and don't hold your breath expecting solidarity from other union members in BA. BASSA are going to be swinging in the breeze this time.

I joined BA as a career, this contract sees an end to my career. I would rather go out fighting with my self respect in tact, than be bullied into submission.

Is it just me, or can someone else see Crewfriend back on here in six months time saying, "All we want with this ballot is to be able to accept the offer that was given back in December 2010. We are even able to accept the 4 points and New Fleet!"?

Trust me Crewfriend, the offer on the table is only going to get worse. You are right when you suggest that you are happy to strike 'even though you are hurting yourselves'. I understand your fear for your future career - I really do! It is BASSA that has put you in this very unfortunate situation. Alas, there is no going back from it. Damage limitation is what it is all about now, and I can't see the current proceedings achieving much of that.

No we dont want them sacked. They can join the current fleets on out Ts+Cs and not the shambles they currenty "enjoy".

I am not being ironic. Why is it when someone has a differing view to the forum posse on here you cannot be genuine.

Be worried because there are thousands upon thousands of us who think like me.

We have had our staff travel taken but we are still here
We have seen our friends victimised but we are still here
We have lost money but we are still here.

We are still here. We are not going away and BASSA will win. That will actually be good for all employees even the BASSA haters.

No way my friend, the absolute overwhelming majority of BA staff will ensure BASSA do not..!!

Quite quite mad.

I reckon a deluded mind from over exposure to the nutters on the BASSA forum.

It's worrying that people can just accpt what they say without questioning it. Very worrying.
My sentiments entirely. I have heard of this mindset...now that I've witnessed it..mind blowing!

We all know that there are still many crew who "believe" in Bassa.

They are largely irrelevant now because even if there is a strike it will, once again, be largely ineffective, and BA are certainly not going to cede to their demands. Obviously there are still a substantial number of cc who are unable to change their attitudes or thought processes.

BA has made it clear that the offer will only get worse as time passes , and more costs are incurred.

Personally I can live with the bad attitudes - although my patience has been tested recently. But many cannot.

BA must , at some point, remove the bad apples.

The main reason that the strikes failed was crew who had voted for a strike turning up for work in increasing numbers. I operated during each of the strikes and from 6 on the first, by the time it came to the third we had a "full" crew of 12 and sent the VCCs home.
It also wasn't helped by Unite's inability to run a legal ballot and the subsequent court judgment which gave BA vital breathing space to train up the VCCs. This gave them a measure of confidence that some sort of operation could be mounted.
I also did some crew support driving at LGW, I was paired up with a systems analyst from Waterside on a bank holiday, 3 engineers from Cardiff on days off were walking the terminals and I handed the car over to an engineer at LHR who had resigned from Unite after the slagging off they received about maintenance standards.
The BASSA hierarchy are out of step with the rest of us, whether you think that matters is up to you. We are (particularly now) in survival mode. Any strike vote will simply mobilise us all again.
The offer is fair, you have the chance to put this at an end and move on. Please take it.

Unite did make a mistake by saying we would get the offer. BASSA stepped in and rightly stopped it as it was insulting.

I have my doubts over Unite but not BASSA.

We all know that the figures from the last strike we inaccuarte. 7000+ went on strike, many more were off or dounroute.

BASSA only tells it's members the truth. It's still the truth even if you lot don't like the truth.

When the persecuters have been defeated we will all be better off as workers. We should all unite as one and move forward together, taking the lead from BASSA.

Before we get to that point BASSA and CC89 will have to defend another court action. So many of us, that have left the Union in the past 12 months, are still getting mail so we are clearly all going to receive ballot papers which will allow BA to block any strike action. How about asking BASSA how they are protecting themselves against that probability? What steps are they taking to make sure ballot papers don't go out to non-union crew? I left 9 months ago and sent a letter to Unite, and cancelled my subscriptions and phoned Unite a few months later and still, I thoroughly expect to get a ballot paper. And I am not the only one, on this forum alone there are loads of us. It's like ground hog day, I hope the judge hasn't left for her skiing holiday yet!

The ballot is being done by a 3rd party. Unite have lawyers and not only that we have lawyers who are cabin crew as well, and crew defence. Between them all we will get it right.

The courts will not be the way out this time.

The workers will be victorious and it is long deserved. The riches of this company should be shared out equally.

Insulting in the view of the few, not the many clearly. The many could have shown the degree by which they were insulted of course if the ballot had been conducted, would that not have been good?

Bassa and the truth.....

I guess then:-

- you got your staff travel back in 5 minutes?
- only 26 people turned up for work on day 1 of strike?
- A/C were parked at cardiff
- A/C circled the area and returned to base?
- 7,000 went on strike?
- An 18 year old bar worker was offered CSM on new fleet when only people
with flight experience have so far been interviewed?
- They are willing to negotiate wehn in fact they refuse to show at meetings
unless Amicus are removed?
- 10,000 members (9,279 at last count and decreasing daily)

These are just a few of the numerous untruths your union is willing to mislead it's members with in a desperate attempts to hold on to it's membership numbers. It has taken you all for absolute fools and you seem to lap it up? Your loyalty is commendable but at some point you have to stop blindly following this bunch of liars and wake up to the facts before it's too late??

Okay, lets hope you are right because when the Cabin Crew union is made to look ridiculous in court it tends to tar us all with the same brush. Once is unfortunate, twice is mildly embarrassing, any more and we may all have to pretend to be bankers! (Just adding a Blackberry to my Christmas list in case!)

'Cabin crew members who are lawyers ' ?? Seem to recall that there was one CC member who was studying. Given the fees lawyers command I find it hard to believe that they would want or need a second job as cabin crew. Unless they were lousy as lawyers. As for Crew Defence. Bunch of jokers. What happened to the case they hired Russell Jones & Walker for in a bid to prove that removal of staff travel was racist? ?? Did it ever see the light of day?
