Tingz

Hello Tingz,

They actually took my healthcard record along with all the rest of docs (certificates, diplomas, etc) back to Dubai. I've included all vaccionations; even the Yellow-Fever certificate (which is valid for 10 years)!

Again, I happened to have everything (originals in spanish, official translations and copies) during the final interview. They really appreciated the fact I was so prepared. If I'm selected, this will make things easier for HR and will speed up the hiring process. All documents in a language other than English, have to be officially translated into English (which in most cases is expensive and can take some extra time).

I am sure you can send the information along with your medicals. I wouldnt stress so much about it, just have everything ready. If they have asked you for them then is a MUST. Keep in mind that evethough it seems like a lot of vaccinations, most of them have to be taken once in your life. Most likely you already have them done when you were born. Check your health card or your family doctor.

HIV Test?

In UAE it's very normal thing to be tested for HIV, actually that's the only way to get the Resident Visa (3 years visa). Anyone who's tested to be possitive, they will be deported immediately. Well, in a way, that makes the country very safe place to work and enjoy the life.

Hi Annabell,

My open day went great. I really enjoyed the whole process. I have written a big long story about it, but I haven't posted it on here yet. If you'd like to read it, let me know. That goes for anyone else too.

If I was to wrap up my advice in one sentence it would be to look really really super interested on the day.

Hope it goes great for you. Best of Luck.

Your Open Day!

Hey Steegily!
I'd really like to know how your Open Day went. Is it possible to read your posting?
I'm really nervous, cause I've no idea what it will be like.
I hope that not too many people apply for Emirates in Germany. I think it is still only a few who know Emirates here in Germany. Most apply for Lufthansa, I guess.

Thanks for your reply!! I thought it was abit far fetched that they would pay for hair and nails, but afew people have told me that. Rumours!! I have very blond, almost white hair which is not my natural colour and my eyebrows are quite dark, but i NEVER have regrowth and they accepted all my photos with me looking like this, so im just wondering if i should change my hair before i come or leave it and see what they say....

Salut

Hi mates!

Today I had my final interview with Lucy and Jessica.
90% of the questions, were about customer service, different situations and how did you handle it.

I stayed there only 30 minutes, normally they told us, the day before, that the final interview takes 60 minutes. Did i do someting wrong?

Hello,
There is nothing wrong with that!!! Just be patient now and they'll get back to you... By the way, do u speak romanian as well? My name is alice and I'll join Emirates on august 3... can't wait!!!

Just wanted to let everybody from Glasgow know NOT to go to get their photos done on Buchanan Street... I did mines there and were refused.
Then I went to Venart Photography on Bath street and the photos were much better and cheaper!!!

Good luck to everyone!!!

Wish you all the best!

It seems like most people that have carefully read all the posts in here managed to make it to the final interview . This is so exciting! Really you guys, EVERYTHING we all have posted in here is much appreciated, great team work!

Has anyone who had their final interview last week of May been contacted by EK yet? Mine was May30th... Should I be worried?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you asking about the photos, here is the transcript from the invitation to the final interview (I have a added a few comments):

It is essencial for you to submit 1 full length, 2 casual and 4 passport sized photos. The dimensions are as follows: Full lenght photos - 10cmsx15cms or 4x6", passport photos - 4.5cmsx3.5cms or 1.5x2". Do not affix your photos to the application form. Photos need to be in full color, smiling (*showing your teeth), in focus.

Full Length:
Plain background with no props. Preferably a light colored background which complements your business attire. Facing the camera with good posture. Please ensure both legs are visible, taking care not to cross the legs over, both arms and hands visible, preferebly next to sides of the body. (*showing your teeth, just like you would greet passengers onboard)

Two casual photos in natural settings (*no alcohol or too much skin showing, keep in mind is a musslim country!).

Passport Size:
Should NOT be digital or polaroid. If you are successful you will have to submit 20 more photos in sky blue.

Gals:
Business attire needs to be worn. This includes a fitted shirt-blouse, fitted long sleeved jacket and knee length skirt with skin colored stockings. Appropiate footware would be: court shoes with a heel and no ankle straps. Please do not wear open-toed sandals or ankle chains. Do not wear scarves and ensure that your jewellery is conservative. Hair: if hair is shoulder length, please ensure it is tied back in a neat manner. If in doubt please ask the advice of the recruitment officer.

Boyz:
Business attire to be worn, this includes a long sleeved shirt, tie and jacket. Neatly shaven complexion. Hair needs to be short (not shaven) and well groomed (not too spiked up, not too wet looking).

ATT: All Emirates Wanabe's

If you are serious about a job with Emirates in Dubai it is HIGHLY ADVISABLE that you post a photo of yourself here when enquiring or commenting about your aspirant position with Emirates.

It's no secret that the interview team often browse these and other forums and a familiar face at an interview will definitely improve your chances and can NEVER be a bad thing.

Good Luck - see you on board!

Lindaflychick, CONGRATS! Way to go!

Now a few questions for you: What`s your start date? When did you attend the final interview? How long until they contacted you to submit your medicals? How long for you to get your medicals done?

PLEASE LET US KNOW! We have never been so anxious! (InLoveWithEmirates & FlyRules)

MytCrew, I assume you are EK crew already, How long have you been flying for EK? What`s for us wannabees to expect?
