Talking the Plunge

I'm planning on leaving BA (Gatwick) for Emirates (obviously IF I get the job). I fancy a big change and thought relocation to the UAE would be a good start. Also I liek the look of the Airline and pax comments about them are always very positive.

Only thing I am looking for in this thread (and as they're are lots of pages I may ahve missed it) but cannot find is an average roster.

Also curious as for how long you are entitled to stay in the provided accomodation is it for the duration of your employment of just to help you get started.

Finally when you start are your routes restricted or do you cover the whole network.

Thanks for any help guys.

Hey Matt,

For what the HR people from EK have told me, you are entitled to stay at the provided accomodation for the lenght of your employment. However, after a certain period of time (I believe is 3 years of continuos employment) you can take the money they alocate for this purpose and find housing on your own. Again, this is optional.

About the starting routes, they told me all new hires are trainned to operate B777 and A330. So wherever they are flying those two types of aircraft is where you will end up flying. There is no restricion as far as long or short haul flights. You will be basically filling in flights until your seniority allows you request specific flights and "buddies".

Again, this is just what they told me as we asked them exactly the same questions during our OD in Santa Cruz.

Aussies At Ek

Hi there,

Just wondering if there are any Aussies about who are working for EK as CC? I'm currently CC for a domestic carrier and am seriously considering having a go at the next open day.

If there is anyone about who is willing to give me some info on pay, allowances, rosters/bids, leave, etc I'd be really grateful.

Feel free to PM me if you like

Ciao!

Hey every1,

I have just submitted my application for emirates as cabin crew. wahoo!!

Just wondered if any1 knows whether the recruiters let u know that they have seen ur application/r considering it/or have been unsuccessful etc.

I am from England and am a little worried as there are no open days advertised for the coming 2 months so will have to wait!

I am in Dubai for another week - is there a way i could contact the recruiters to let them know this, or is it a case of sit tight and wait to hear from them?

Also, I have just finished university studying law with no past experience in this field of work - am i being realistic in that i could get a cabin crew job with emirates?

Any guidance or advice would be appreciated

Hi JennyBean!

I've just read your post, and I'm glad to can help you.If you are in Dubai in this moment, you can call or visit Emirates advertastment and find out wheter they have open day in Dubai, 'cause I know that they have it almost every week, so go for it!
And if you want to wait for them to come in your England, you don't need online aplication 'cause if you come at openday, that is only what is important.Do not expact for them to call you via online aplication, 'cause there are planty of people and they can't call each of them.
I was one time at openday here in Belgrade, and I didn't pass to the next step, and I've been again before 2 days, and they didn't want to get my cv 'cause I was at openday in February, and it didn't pass 6 months 'til June, so they unfortenally brought me backand invite me to come again after 6m, when they come at September.Very bad experience, but I w'ont let itI am here now so ask if you need help or informations!

Final interview in Bucharest

Hi mates!

Today I had my final interview with Lucy and Jessica.
90% of the questions, were about customer service, different situations and how did you handle it.

I stayed there only 30 minutes, normally they told us, the day before, that the final interview takes 60 minutes. Did i do someting wrong?

Hi there!

Hi!
I am 20 years old, but I will be 21 in less than three months.
I really wanna work for Emirates as a flight attendant, but you have to be 21 at the time of the application.
I have seen that there will be several recruitment days in June and July, and I really don't wanna miss that chance. So I tried to apply online and I was able to submit my application, although I am not 21 yet. A few days later I received an email with information and details about their recruitment day. So does that mean that I can show up there regardless of the fact that I am not 21 or will they send me home?
I have read a posting in this forum that they ask people under 21 to leave. But why did I get the email then?
Does anyone know where I can find out if I am allowed to attend the recruitment day? Or has anybody met attendants under 21 on a recruitment day?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Anabell!

From ny point of wiev, you should wait for that 3 monthes because, there is no way to be in their team if you are younger of 21.

Unfortunally, it is true, but do not be sad because they are coming every 3 monthes in places where they have planty of candidates.

So, wait for them and they will come, earlyer than you expact. They sent you e-mail, because they can not get information about your born day via computer.Be paciont, as stewardesses have to be, because I went to openday before passing 6 monthes from my last openday, and day back me home, I wrote it in my last message.

That was lection for me that I should wait, but I want this job so much that I could not wait, so I understand you at all.

Good luck!

Emirates questions

Anyone from OD in Cracow,Poland, 2 June? I got to the final interview, I spend about 1,5 being asked about my past exp. I was told to do a psychometric test, but I am wondering because not all the people had to do this, is it means something? When and how I will receive their decision? And question about wages, how much I can earn there when I am a freshmen, can u give it to in US dollars or euros . Thx

EXCELLENT comments

Hi Cicco,

Just wanted to say thanks a lot that you have raised an important topic and I really appreciate your comments. If all recruiters of Emirates would be like you (professional and sincere and fair)I am sure the cabin crew members have really been devoted to their job and all customers would be always happy

THANK YOU!!!
