Hi Oz
It was so great to come across this site.. I am new to it. I was wondering if you (or anyone else who has been through the 1 on 1 interview) let me know what questions you were asked in the interview so that I can better prepare myself.. I tend to freeze up. I have made it through to round two. My interview time has been set. If you could help I would really appreciate it.
Also, how are you finding it overall.. have you progressed within the company since joining?
I look forward to haring form you..
Cheers

First timer!
Hello everyone. First of all I`d like to thank you all for everything you guys post in here. It has been VERY helpful and I believe I am now prepared to attend the open day in Santa Cruz next wednesday. I`ve done pretty much everything you guys suggested: from practicing in front of the mirror (smiling, leaning forward, speaking slowly, etc) to having an organized folder with my entire carreer achievements as well as bunch on photos of myself, relatives, friends and such.
I am a 29yo male, I`ve been working for AA as Sales Representative for the last three-an-a-half years. My native language is spanish. What are your thoughts about me having a chance with EK? If I dont get pass the first round, how long until I can apply again? I noticed there is another open day in Buenos Aires in July, would that be too soon? Are they hiring male crew members at the moment?
I`d appreciate all of your comments as, like everyone else, I am rather excited about it!
thanx

allison79, they will give you a copy of the contract once you have completed your medicals already.
with regards to veins, i think he/she means spider veins or varicose veins. i suggest you undergo a treatment. it will be very useful good luck!

Richxby - Crew Rest
The routes that have crew rest bunks are
New York - JFK (approx 14 hours)
Osaka (approx 9 hours)
Nagoya (approx 9 hours)
Sydney direct (14 hours)
Melbourne direct (14 hours)
Zurich, although we never use them (6 hours)
Keep in mind that length of flight does not nessessarily mean that it will be flown on an aircraft with bunks. The most known example being Perth (11 hours). The A340-500 in particular is used more for it's first class product than for crew rest.
However all flights over 8.5 hours, maybe 8 hours even, must have 4 hard-blocked seats for crew rest, so for a full Perth flight, you may find yourself having, 4 seats shared amongst 16 crew, a total of 45 minutes rest...

Random question about hair!
Hi there, am attending an interview this Thursday 31st. So far I have researched all the threads on EK and taken notes so I'm prepared for the day (fingers crossed) however one thing I'm not sure about is my hair. Sounds daft I know - It's bob length short at the back longer at the front, I can just about put it up however it requires about 50 kirby grips which looks a little ridiculous. Is it acceptable to wear it down, it just misses the top of my collar.
Thanks guys

Ek Hr Staff
Ok guys. As I was on my way to VVI last night, I ran into two of the EK HR ppl on the airport suttle at LIM! I noticed they had "Fly Emirates" bag tags on their carry-on bags.
I must admit I was rather nervous, but they were very nice girls, very relaxed. (Two aussie girls!) I feel more relaxed and confident now that I know what type of people I will find at the Openday. I heard they were the same ones that did the interviews in SAO and CCS.
Ok... figers crossed here...

Hi guys Good luck to all aspiring EK FA like me.
I hope someone would be kind enough to answer my inquiry. Can you choose your joining date with EK? Or are they the ones choosing the dates. They don't come often to my country and once they are here, I would like to try my luck again, unfortunately I can't leave this year (supposing I make it, I need to be positive about this). Thanks !!

RE: problems with fotos?
Hi,
I had got through to the final interview, and I have sent them all the photos that they asked, however they have asked to send them again, because they are not 'conservative' enough. (i put some wax on my hair, and they think my hair looks abit too spiky.)
Does anyone have any problem with their photos before? Did u get the job at the end? I am confused...called me twice because the photos (both formal and casual) were rejected one way or another.
Many thanks.
