No you don't need to be fluent in Arabic, only those applying in Dubai and UAE nationals

Need your help!

Hi everybody!

I attented the londonner OD 2 weeks ago, then passed my final interview last week.
during the selection process, the lady from the recruitment asked us to create a profil on emiratesgroupcareers.com, things that I did but I didn't know for the complete online application.
I passed my FI a week ago and I have just realised that I had to complete an online application form!!!
I made everything ready now, but a week after my interview...
Don't you think that it will affect my chance to get a job with Emirates, because I didn't follow the procedures correctly?
I am so worried.
Thank you very much for your help

@ Lauryl

Thank you so much for answering Lauryl

I must admit that there were a lot of people at this OD. I was expected a few less

Regarding "I'm not what their looking for.." ... don't make me come there and slap you kidding...

No seriously , I've failed 2 times already but I will never give up the dream. As long as I will keep breathing (and I don't reached 34 years) I will apply for Emirates and try to succeed. You should do also...

Like a wise man said once... Failing is not a result , is an attitude !

You have now 6 months to prepare better...don't give up please!!!

Have a blessed day Lauryl

You are right @mich89.
You dont need to be fluent in arabia. However apart from english knowing a foreign language would be an asset.
And then with time we learn everything

advice?

Hello
I am looking for as much info as I can, about working for Emirates, as things in my country are getting worst every day....and also because I find it applying.
but I have read a lot of people criticizing the company and the working conditions (not able to get sick, treating you like an slave...)... and that is pulling me back...
anyone can help? or indicate me where to ask about how is working in Emirates as cabin crew?

By the way, i am 29 and my work experience is 5 years in Banking...may that be a handicap?

thanks!

@ Flyguy87
Aww i'm sorry i am not able to tell you about the background colour for your pics. When I googled it, I found a guy posing with indeed a sky blue one, but then I can't confirm you if this is what EK's looking for.

@ Lauryl
Have you been told by the recruiter not to attend any other OD within six months time or is it your personnal choice to do so? Cuz it seems to me that you can attend as many ODs as you wish with no time restriction?!
If they do the screening thing during the OD then maybe you have to wait the six months? But if it's only a CV drop off then you can re attend an OD whenever you want ? It's pretty confusing huh !

Hi Lilou60130,

congratulations for getting through your F1. I dont know if this helps, but my daughter got thru her final interview and didnt realise she had to fill in the on line application as well. She did eventally apply on-line and by Head Office seemed to be able to match up her on line application to all her paperwork that she gave them at her final interview stage. It took her a couple of weeks to get an acknowledmment on the site, she thought that she hadnt got the job, then her online application said something like "approval in progress" for a coiple of weeks, then she was locked out and it said " recruitement will contact you" this took 6/8 weeks, very nerve racking for her and us. she is now in Dubai, finished her training and working on A380. Try not to stress to much, Im sure you will be ok. xxx

Faaris and FlyingCupCakeGirl

Faaris
Thank you Faaris!
I admire your positive attitude compared to mine, I am a pessimistic person as you can notice! But not having a feedback is pretty upseting. I have previous cabin crew experience and always used customer service in all my jobs so I thought all these assets would be advantages to at least pass the first stage but I failed twice at the same stage! It is so frustrating! However you're right, I won't give up, one day or so we will make the cut! ^^

FlyingCupCakeGirl
Actually that's what I thought too but even after an OD the 6 months waiting are compulsory! I went to Paris OD last July and tried to attend Toulouse OD 2 months later but when I told the lady that I already attended a OD 2 months earlier she sent me home telling me that I had to wait for 6 months. I think if I had not mentionned that she wouldn't have known I attented an OD before because they probably toss the unsucessful candidates CVs....
I'm gonna try to apply for an AD in London next month. There's no way they can check every single candidates last OD! We're too numerous and as I already said they probably don't keep all the CV's, do they? The worst think that could happen is that the Australian lady be there and recognize me..

What do you guys think?

Working for Emirates is a dream come true for everyone

Imagine a single Forum of 10 Threads of 110 Pages....over 1100 pages about Emirates...just read the forum and you will find all the necessary information here believe me

Its easier for you to learn all there is to know from this forum because you will soon discover an amazing story behind every "ppruner" who received the GC

p.s. : OD = open door (an interview in which you can meet the Emirates recruiter without a former selection - attend with your CV and photo)
AD = assessment day (an interview you can attend to ONLY after you have been selected - by Emirates directly or by one of their appointed conjunction agency)
FI = final interview (an interview in which you talk one on one with the recruiter - you can get here after successfully pass the OD or/and AD)
GC = the most important phone call of your life ... the Golden Call in which you are congratulated for successfully joining Emirates

For the full lenght pic: white background.

For a male, legs a bit spread, arms loose next to your body (hands visible) and a smile showing your teeth.

Not sure for a female and I dont have the papers next to me.

Still waiting....

I had my FI 15/02 (6th week will start in 3 days) and my online status is still "Applied" and most of the people are in "Approval in progress", some of them already received GC....

And I'm still in "Applied"...

Is that enough strong reason for panic attack?

Hi Guys,

I really have no idea where to post this but since I am an Emirates Wannabe, I figured I should start here!

I went for an Assessment Day back in 2006, I was only 21 and I didnt get asked back But I am considering applying again, the only thing that puts me off applying, is that I have a few tattoos. One on my foot, wrist, 2 on my lower neck and an inner finger tattoo on my ring finger (all very small tattoos!) All of them are pretty easy to cover up except the one on my inner finger. I think this may be a big issue and I would not know how to cover this discretely. Do you think there is any point in applying?

Thanks x
