Hey everyone so yesterday i got a call from the HR,you can imagine how excited i was but she was just asking me too send them my physical address.She didn't say anything about Golden call or medicals or anything.She just said if she needs anything else she will be in contact with me

Advice please not sure ?
wondering if anyone can give me info..I have applied online to Emirates and have received an email telling me about the Birmingham open day this saturday however i was wondering what happens if you cant attend the open day?do they dismiss your online application or still consider you?as im not 100% i can make the open day yet?if anyone could help/advice would really appreciate it

Hi Airpoppy.
I think that your online application stays in their database, so you can go on the next OD that they have. I'm not 100% sure, but believe that for an OD you can even show up without an online application.
Don't worry they are flexible, if you can't make it just go when you can.

I think that your online application stays in their database, so you can go on the next OD that they have. I'm not 100% sure, but believe that for an OD you can even show up without an online application.

Upsetting Edmonton Emirates Open Day - July 8th Review
Hey Everyone
I just got back from the Edmonton day and honestly speaking I am confused as to what Emirates really wants
Today, I cleared all the open day formalities, the two assessment day group activities, however during the last stage from the final assessment test to the final interview, I failed it.
Not sure why I failed it but that's OK, the point is ,
people who wore :
-summer dresses,
-bra showing , revealing outfits,
-Short short skirts
-not wearing professional outfit
-wearing sleeveless dresses
all of the above got letters for the final interview, no, I am not kidding and I did write an e-mail to the HR coordinator plus the senior HR coordinator at emirates just now...
I am not upset that I did not get in, however I am upset because Emirates being an International Airline shouldn't be giving final interview opportunities to people wearing revealing clothes atleast?! I am not questioning their recruitment strategies or policies, however I was shocked when I came outside and saw who and who got the final interview invitation.
I had my hair tied in a bun, wore professional business attire, and me as well as so many people who wore business attire were rejected!
Overall, I have been to many open houses / attended final interview in the past and have never experienced one like this before...
This was big joke today, not kidding, it was very disappointing to see people who had their hair in a mess, did not wear professional outfit, who wore jean jackets got in ... don't know what else to add

You will be contacted: july 5th
GC: july 7th
DOJ: September 5th
Now waiting for the email with the medicals, but I've heard they take sometime before they email them to you.

Emirates is very picky about grooming, if they really chose the people you described, they won't survive long in Dubai , but then again, they might adapt very well, and recruiters look into personality first before judging a book by its cover

Hello everyone can you help me with something?
I've been to my OD today, we watched videos and discussed about the company and then were the drop off CV session.
At around 12 pm we were free to go home and I was desperately waiting for the call to come back to attend the assessment day. Unfortunately, they never called... With my crew experience, and my numerous customer service jobs I thought I would at least make it to the screening day! Such a disappointment!
Here is my question....
The 6 months wait does not apply in that case right?
From what I understand it only applies for those who have attended an assessment day.
Plus the Emirates emails mentions it:"PLEASE BE ADVISED IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED THIS INVITATION AND HAVE ATTENDED THE ASSESSMENT FOR THE CABIN CREW POSITION WITHIN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, KINDLY IGNORE THIS INVITATION."

MONTREAL76 is right they are very picky , as of the people you are describing well maybe they knew how to stand out from the crowd personality wise , that's what emirates are looking for , plus it's an open day most people don't get an invitation and they don't really know how to dress for the event but i'm sure they must have excellent skills and customer service experience one in finals they explain to them how they expet them to be dressed but i did not experience that in my open day all the people chosen for finals were dressed professional business attire .
Sorry to hear you didn't go throught but it shoud'nt be a reason for you to give up try try and try again if you really want it

Dress code for joining flight
Hi guys! Does anybody know if Emirates requires you to adhere to any dress code on the joining flight to Dubai? Bearing in mind that I will be flying on a staff travel ticket, would they perhaps require me to dress semi formally?

Passport copy upload - Online Joiners Form
Hello guys. First of all congratulations to all those who have received their GCs. Well, as I am in the process of joining, I am pretty busy. And I have a question. As I still could not receive my passport, I am not able to upload it on the portal and also not complete the online joiners form. And today I have received a mail saying that the passport is urgent pending. And I will not get my passport until the next 2 days. Do you think it will create a problem? Thank you for your answers guys.
