Angel It's NOT so Bad!

I was in Gulf Air for 4 years and it was a great experience! For everyone who complains WHY ARE YOU THERE? There is a big difference between Emirates and Gulf Air, they are two diffetent lifestyles.

Ive noticed Gulf Air crew have a bit more fun than Emirates who always look so sad when they walk through the airports even tho they earn more money.
Gulf Air is a little more laid back when it comes to the actual job itself, the layovers are also longer with GF however at times it is a little less organised than Emirates. Basicaly there are good and bad things about both companies.

Gulf Air is not the best pay but for anyone who would like to get their foot in the door into this industry it is a nice job to do for 1-2 years.

GF min cabin crew on 330/340 is 11. Having flown these aircraft for the last 7 years I have NEVER EVER dispatched with less than 10. This happened 3 times in 7 years and was due to crew illness down route. A totally unavoidable situation and one which happens to all airlines at some stage. Noo Noo you are simlpy lying about the crew compliment and should be ashamed of yourself.
I am well aware of legal minimum crew complements thankyou.
No you are not and...
Whats more, my bubble is well and truly intact.
No it isn't!! Your posts expose some other motive for lying so why don't you tell us the real story? Got sacked for too much sickness, too many no-shows perhaps?

for pitys sake

vfenext... I'm not lying, after 7 years of GF you should know that the legal crew complement for the A330/340 is 8. this is not my opinion, this is fact. A few years ago, flights were regularly dispatched with 8 or 9 crew members.
My first flight for example I was the 9th crew member. My next (to London) I was the 8th.

FYI... I had very few sick days during my time at GF and no 'no shows' whatsoever. I was actually a very responsible and dedicated crew member. I'm sure I am not the only person who has put a lot in and got not a lot out of this company.

And another thing..... Why are you being so nasty? This is another reason why I left. While there are many lovely people at GF, there are also a number of bad apples who refuse to listen to others experiences.

Wink gulf air

Gulf air considering either Boeing 787s or Airbus A350s on option, to replace its Boeing 767 aircraft which are to be phased out by 2009.

is it true

How long takes the Gulf Air contract?

Hi everyone!!

How long takes the Gulf Air contract?

Do they attend less people to Gulf Air Open days than with Fly Emirates?

Is it easier to get in Gulf Air than EK?.
Which one is better?

What About Qatar Airways?

Thanks

What is the approximate monthly salary? There is a post on another F/A board that says $4250 and $75 per day per diem..... Sounds WAYYYY too high for me. Input please. Thanks

Gulf Air 2003-2004

Hi there,

Maybe here someone can give info...
When i worked for GF, we had a photoshoot with our class at Bahrain Airport . Together with a inflight chef. We were IT751(not 100%sure.
We were told we would get a copy as well, but never did. And i left quite hasty in may 2004 as my mom was sick and flying back and fourth betweem europe and Bahrain was quite exhausthing..

Anyone has tips how i would be able to get info on it?? Or get in touch with others from the classes IT750 and 751??#
Or Sheri or the finnish lady at GF service training??

Any info would be appreciated..

Greetings from rainy Vienna,

S

Gulf Air,the new packages for Cabin Crew.

hello Habibis and habibchis!

I have seen the Joint Notice a few days ago...

I assume a lot of people can finally start breathing a bit better in a few months!

I heard that our ex-colleagues at EY etc. are overwhelmed right now by the fact that life on board a GF aircraft was a fiesta afterall, and how obviously there services are not appreciated at all (ex-GF crew's experiences).Off course you get a lot better destinations and at least an aircraft with working reading lights/hot cups or flushing toilets.

and now a bit of the Daily Gossip,

Apparently the A321's are now not coming afterall, but who knows anything as a fact about new aircraft coming to GF.
The flashy on time performance posters in the briefing rooms with an A321 is the best source we will ever have!!

concerning the cabins,
there are plans to convert the GF 340's seats into something more 21th century-ish and the 330's will recieve an all new seat as well.
the current 330 seats would be placed on the GF340's and the 330's get something new.

they are currently reviewing an interim IFE system for the F/C J/C and that would be some sort of a portable DVD player loaded in trolley's, but this is just an option, not even a plan.

Got more rumours and gossip? go for it!

they used to select males, but only bahraini and omani nationals though...

the interview: pretty standard procedure: 1) company presentation 2) groups discussions 3) english test 4)grooming 5) final interview (this was what it was like in January, it may have changed a bit now)

it is not hard, you just need to have what they are looking for, just as in most airlines

good luck!!

hahaha, since middle easteren airlines (don t know about others) never give feedback it is a bit difficult to find out uh

just be yourself, confident, interested, sociable, listen to other people, well groomed (this last thing is very important for GF especially)

Please help

Does anyone know or have an idea of whether it is absolutely crucial for applying for gulf air that you have graduated highschool -finished grade 12? I know that it is important for Emirates, however, not so important for Etihad and qatar. I have a lot of work experience etc and I did get good grades at school.

What do you think?

help

I applied online 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back.. I received an email when I applied saying they would review my application within 1-2 weeks and only successfull applicants would be contacted.. Therefore I must assume I wasn't successfull....HOWEVER, my application status is NEW and that to me seems as though they havent even reviewed it yet...

What do you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
