Thanks Maya. Geez i hope i get the golden call next week... i dont think i have the patience to wait for 2 months!

About the medicals... do they require an ECG test? I'm a bit worried as i had a heart operation when I was 3 years old to correct a congenital heart disease. Although I am okay now, no restrictions on my activities, not taking any medications or whatsoever, the doctors get scared when they see the scar on my chest!! The sight of it makes them apparently silly to jump into a conclusion that I am not fit to work.

Anybody here also has a history of surgery? My condition really worries me to death!

final approval

Anyone got the final approval by phone or via email? Can you guys believe that they have been asking me for my passport copy 5 times??!! I received once confirmation from a lady in recruitment team saying she received it, but now again someone (a different lady) called me and left a message saying they did not receive my passport. Oh my god, I can't believe my DOJ is April 18 and they keep asking me for the passport. This morning I sent 4 emails with the same attachment hence they won't loose it again...

same here... leemarlon

After my final interview, the recruiter told me to leave the photocopy of my passport and job letter and proof of education at the front desk under her name.
I did what she had told me to do, and I left everything at the hotel front desk under her name.
It's been three weeks after my final interview, and I just received an email from dubai that I should then them the missing documents!
I wonder where the documents I originally submitted went..

to leemarlon and holagirl

well as an ex-EK staff... I can say that not-so-good stuff sometimes happen. Things can go wrong within the HR Department, just imagine how many new staff they are recruiting every month! My advise is to just stay cool and cooperative. Do some follow-ups if you feel things started to get silly and strange. But in any case, this should not be a reason for you to worry because Emirates has a very competent recruitment team. There may be delays and little shortfalls but it's surely gonna be taken care of.

recruiters in Latin America

HEY LEEMARLON!

Just a question, who were the recruiters in your home town? I'm just curious about it

I'm sure you'll have some god news soon, the EK recruitment staff seem to be flexible and understanding when somebody needs some "extra-help", change of date or stuff like that... JUST STAY COOL!

CHEERS!

Chest and teeth X-rays?

Just wondering why a chest x-ray is part of the medical? What exactly are they checking for? And for the teeth, what are they checking for as well? Do they want you to get any work done on your teeth in your home country before you leave for Dubai?

Hi, the following information can answer your questions:

X-ray films with the date and patient name on them AND a radiologist’s report in English are required. Any thoracic scoliosis must have comment on degree of curve and rotation.

Dental Standards Expected:
· Teeth should be free from caries and all necessary fillings completed.
· Roots etc. should have been removed. Sockets clean, uninfected and healthy.
· Temporary fillings are not acceptable.
· Gingiva and oral cavity to be free from infection or disease.
· Teeth should be free from plaque, scaled and polished. Good level of periodontal health.
· Crown and bridgework, if present, should be in good condition.
· On initial examination in EK clinic, if treatment is found to be unsatisfactory or uncompleted, it will
need to be restored at the patients expense.
· Dentures, if applicable, should be in good condition and fit properly.
· Root canal treatment should be complete and satisfactory. For recent RCT, a post treatment periapical
X-ray should be supplied
· Wisdom teeth which are normally symptom-free (i.e. which do not compromise adjacent teeth or
do not create recurrent infections) do NOT require removal.
· Dentition should be of cosmetically acceptable appearance
· Gaps / missing teeth do not need to be replaced by bridges etc. If posterior and unnoticeable.

Hi,
When did she receive the final approval? Does she have to serve any notice period? We are 3 here with DOJ April 18 and no one has gotten anything but resend and fix some of the medical forms...i am no longer leaving on April 18th...i requested them to move my DOJ to May due to their delay on advising me. Well, I think you should get ur final approval just 4 days before your DOJ 11th.

Oh sorry to hear that. I know 6 months is a long wait, but it's the only way. Keep trying, I failed twice and was chasing this job for almost 5 years now. Don't give up!
