Hi Javier

Hi Javier,
Pura vida! (a typical costarican greeting with friends)
I am so excited and finally i can count on you about our Emirates journey. So you have the DOJ on Apr 11th, and mine is Apr 18th. Of course we can stay in contact with the rest of the lucky people here in Costa Rica, hence we can keep in touch when we are in Dubai! They are Gustavo (April 11), Maria Fernanda (April 18), Patrizia (April 18), Kristy (no idea but i know she is in), and myself.

No one has got the final approval, so we are all facing the same issue with notice period. Stay cool!

Arrow Recruitment agency Bribes

Hear this: EK recruitment agency called SASS from singapore is charging people 500USD for jumping the pre-screening process of EK and another 1500 USD if the applicants get job. The applicants are also being asked to sign a contract and the recruitment agency seems to be claiming to be authorized by the Director Recruitment to do this.

I wonder why is EK recruitment team putting a blind eye to this major incident and huge outcry by applicants in thailand. Do their dreams have a price tags now?

Hi,
The long hair must be tied back and properly groomed. EK is very strict on your overall looking must be professional and demostrating your nice personality. SMILE and be friendly to the people.

Good luck!

The dress code for EK's Open Day is business attire. Skirt or pant are acceptable but make sure they fit you to look professional. Light make up for women and hair well groomed and tied back. Remember in group discussion just stay calm and DO NOT talk a lot, respect others opinions and DO NOT interrupt the conversation. Furthermore, they are looking for team players and not a leader.

Wish you the best of lucks!

My DOJ is Apr 18.

Angry

Hello Guys
I am feeling a little disheartened I know shouldn’t have been on the other Emirates forum because its just for current employees but I had a little look today and don’t know if any one else has been on there but there is a lot of bad stuff on there about working for Emirates.
Some people are saying they are a bad company to work for and they can get rid of you very easily
Has anyone else had a look ?? What do you think on this ?

Nickedo 15 I think you have totally misinterpreted what I have said !!!! Did you read my message properly ??????? I was not trying to upset anyone !!
I was only going off what other people have said on this forum on the Emirates Crew Discussions II, these are people who are actually work for Emirates
I don’t think I have made a fool out of my self I was just asking a question if anyone else had heard this or seen what people have wrote on the other forum
I am doing my research as I feel its is a very big step to move away and I want to know as much information as possbile and I think everyone else my position will feel the same !!!

settle down nikedo!

izzy wasnt saying anything bad about EK. Read again and you will see he came across the EK Crew discussions forum and was disheartened (his words btw) by what he read... I guess he is wondering if anyone else has read the stuff on there, I have for one, and each company has there own problems, also they have good points, and these are the things that need to be weighed up... the good against the bad, thats all he was trying to do... no need to go and have a go when it is probably just a misunderstanding...

can we all be friends again??

Dress Code

Rbadizza, you should wear length skirt with stockings and heels...definitely. Wear your hair back if it is long and don't forget the red lipstick. But if they want " short sleeve and knee length skirt.." just follow their advice - at least it will shows that you're able to follow orders strictly.
Be confident and smiley, without too much expectations - i think this is the right way to make a good impresions to the recruiters, everything else is a question of chance and luck.
Well, I wish you best of luck one more time

Not bad advice - but you'll blend in with the crowd like a chameleon. You don't have to wear your hair strictly according to Emirates grooming standards - if you do so, you will look exactly like every other wannabe in the room. Look professional, while being individual, and you'll have a better chance of the recruiters remembering you.
Thats the tricky part, getting these guys to remember who you are. They get paid minimum wage to assess hundreds of keen young people all trying their hardest to look like EK crew, and after a while, they all start to look alike. Make yourself stand out (preferably for positive reasons) and you'll stand a much better chance of getting recruited, whether the ponytail you had was regulation length or not.

For Gods Sake, if wearing bright red lipstick makes you look like Ronald MacDonald's inflatable party doll friend, don't wear it. Wear what makes YOU look good, and worry about conforming to EK standards once you get into the damn uniform.

Thats good advice gadgetman!

It really is about being an individual and trying to stand out. I went for pink (whilst all the other guys went for other colours - wear what works for you) when I attended my Open Day...and now I am in the Uniform everyday

All my family and friends have told me to wear my hair our because its curly but then reading on here lots of people have said it wear it back !!
I dont wear red lipstick but was going to for the day but now I think I will just be myself were my hair out and usual lipstick !
I will be more comfortable this way !
Did anyone else wear there hair out loose ? xxx
