Hi, it seems a lot of hoops to jump through.
1) CV selection 2) interview recording 3) psychometric tests 4) online interview 5) group discussion 6) panel interview 7) simulator... Are they really that picky? Even the big airlines do not have so many steps!

With this attitude you will probably not pass first few stages, so dont worry...
I have done the assessment earlier this year and it was a smooth and pleasant experience.

Yes of course we are that picky. This is not "the big airlines". This is operating to the same level of professionalism the "big airlines" would expect, plus more. We need to know we can spend 6 days with you, count on you to help out, to be able to do your own job properly, and think ahead of the game and practively operate whilst on duty. One flight you're flying a CEO of a multi-national, the next a sports star/celebrity. This isn't an average gig. so why would you expect an average assessment.

To be fair, much of the process is part of the assessment centre, it's really not all that unusual. Recruitment is the single most important thing a company can do that is not commercial, getting it wrong can be enormously expensive. Overall the experience shouldn't be too unpleasant if you're prepared and have the right attitude.
If it's too much for you, then obviously the fit isn't right.

Some invitations for the online interviews has been sent

I'm still waiting for feedback on the video assessment. Do you know if we receive an email even if we're unsuccessful?

Alberto2210 30th August 2024 13:54

which type are they offering right now?

EatMyShorts! 30th August 2024 19:12

Yes, everyone will receive feedback, whether positive or negative.

Sorry, no, I am not involved in the hiring process. I know that you are eager to find out. Fingers crossed for you!

It is frequently a frustratingly slow process - but it’s worth the wait.

It’s based on business needs at the time, but policy has the majority joining on the Phenom and XLS. Some are lucky and join on the Latitude (the largest type you currently can stay on when you upgrade) and a handful have gone onto the Challengers.

...and the Falcons. We are going to see quite a few pilots leaving the Falcon for other fleets (upgraders, normal fleet changes), while the Falcon fleet is not shrinking as planned, thus we will need newly hired F/Os for the Falcons, too. The first course will start in October.

I must say that so far its been relatively quick for me. Response time about a week after each part I think.

I noticed the Falcon is not listed in the fleet sections on the NetJets website. Any reason for this? (Or am I just overlooking it somewhere?)

Because the fleet is up for disposal (in the not too distant future) I guess

Yes, but as it is hard to sell older aircraft in the current market climate, we are still with 11 tails. Which is great, such a nice aircraft.

Do you think it’s possible to not to live at your ‘gateway city’ ?
I mean, imagine if you take a plane from your city to the gateway city you’ve chosen. Or do you actually start your duty days always in the early morning? Thanks!

redsnail 1st September 2024 09:11

Hi alphafox14,
You can... but there's risk. Unfortunately, most of the time Day 1 has a standby element beginning quite early. (04:00z). This gives Scheduling "flexibility". You can risk it but I wouldn't do that too often or what many do, position themselves at own cost to their gateway the night before. What is possible is that on Day 6, you can go directly to your home airport so long as it's cost effective to NJE.
Eg. You live near LEPA. But the gateway is LEBL. It is risky to catch an early flight on Day 1. So you can position yourself to LEBL in anticipation. Day 5 the tentative is available. You see a reasonably priced ticket to LEPA instead of LEBL, you ask if you can do that instead. If there's no conflict etc, then you can expect that. But! The one constant with NetJets is change.
