Licence insurance? Not too sure - if you mean loss of licence, I think so. It was a while ago for me.
You won't need a uniform for training but you'll be issued with one during Indoc (most do Indoc before going to the sim).
Accomodation, salary, per diems all paid during training.

Thank you for answering so fast, does netjets offer licence insurance, uniform and accommodation during type rating and sim?
haven’t found anything on that.
I’ve met a few pilots and they all seem very happy with the company

Loss of Licence is provided at a fairly basic level and you have the option to improve it by paying more. Uniform and accomodation is provided - genuinely I don't know where doesn't do those things that could consider themselves a reasonable employer.
Netjets is a perfectly fine company to work for, it won't make you love the job but the positives outweigh the negatives, which for the most part is better than the majority of other employers out there.

What's the main reason for the current delays in Indocs? I understand that new aircraft haven’t been delivered as expected. Do you have any updates on how many are expected to be delivered next year? I’ve read that Bombardier has mentioned that delivery issues are gradually improving — is that correct?

Additionally, could you provide some insight into pilot retirements? How many are retired on average each year?

Most of that has already been answered. How many are going to be delivered in a year is a very flexible number, it will depend on sales which depends very much on the wider financial world. If suddenly there’s a boom - you can expect that things will pick up, equally if there’s a popping of a bubble things will slow down.

Everyone is being super cautious, I imagine Netjets management are as well. Personally with no supporting information at all I reckon we will start recruiting again in Q2 ‘26 but in the typical airline way of doing it last minute when it has become critical.

redsnail 7th November 2025 09:48

I don't have the exact figure re retirements as I took early retirement in August. The boss said that he's expecting more in the coming years as folks hit 65. What's harder to quantify is the number of early retirements (from 60yo) and part time. Anecdotally, I'd say there's about 1 a month.
20 years ago there was a big hiring boom from 2004-2006/7. Most of us were around 35-40 years old.

TheAirMission 7th November 2025 11:00

From what I've heard/seen, the amount of "expected" retirements at the moment, which is based on hitting retirement age, will basically triple from 2028 onwards. This doesn't take into account anyone who has already left prior to their exit year, or those who take early retirement/medically retired, as mentioned above.
Approximately 4% of our pilots have left/retired this year to date.

Goldust 7th November 2025 12:17

Thank you for your replies! I'm just trying to figure out how long it will take for the last guys and gals who were selected last year to start their training, I guess the recruitment wont open before that.

Egurre 8th December 2025 08:57

Hello,
Is the Netjets application still going trought the Kura Portal?

redsnail 9th December 2025 11:22

That's who NetJets have used in the past. There appears to be no active recruitment at the moment. In the past, people have "followed" Kura on LinkedIn to get notified when it opens. Perhaps registering with Kura might help too.
Historically, the recruitment window only opens for about 2 -3 weeks at a time.
Good luck.

Hi, can anyone tell me how they prepared for the Netjets Europe assessment and the simulator? You can contact me privately if you'd like. Thanks, and I'm waiting for the application period to open! :ok:

You don’t meet to prepare for the sim. It will be whatever sim is available on the day and they couldn’t care less about limitations / memory items etc. probably you will need to fly some sort of raw data departure (nothing complex) and take some vectors.

Boabity 12th December 2025 10:00

Agreed, they’re looking for some basic flying ability, track a navaid, then another navaid and level off is all they’re looking for but much more important is your SA and how you handle something unexpected - remember DODAR and NITS and you’ll ace it.

Globally Challenged 12th December 2025 11:11

I think I handed control to my sim partner (one of the two assessors) at one point - didn’t cause me any trouble and gave me some extra capacity 😜

I did that too!!

EatMyShorts! 13th December 2025 08:39

That's exactly what they want to see: a realistic self-assessment and proper management of resources in a team-environment. But - PLEASE - do not go "V1 - rotate - your controls" :)

Turpio 18th December 2025 09:45

What is actual situation in NetJets? Do they look for pilots

If you’re desperate and need a job quickly then you need to look elsewhere as we won’t be hiring any time soon as explained above. But if you can wait for your final job move then keep an eye out - it’s rare to regret joining

fisher22 29th December 2025 22:21

Regarding gateways and home basing, do you have to live in the same city that you picked as your gateway? Or do people live in say, a nearby town and commute to their gateway?

redsnail 30th December 2025 03:26

Yes, some people do do that. It can be very fatiguing if you need to wake up super early though. The plan changes often....

Boabity 30th December 2025 06:21

you want to be within 1 1/2 hr drive of your nominated gateway. With that being said you don’t HAVE to, but it can be an added stress. Plenty of folks manage it though.

EatMyShorts! 30th December 2025 12:21

...and if you live far away from your gateway AND have a very early airline show-time for your first day on tour, you may have to drive to the airport the night before and sleep at some place, family, hotel etc.

Hello, do you know if it’s possible to apply to NetJets Europe if you hold an A320 type rating but your ME on the licence has expired? In other words, can you apply through Kura and, if selected, renew the ME/IR afterwards? Thank you

Echo195 9th February 2026 23:52

If you possess TR for complex multiengine jet with /IR in your license, you dont need ME-IR for your next TR. Been there, done that

4 new permanent gateways were published today for Italy:

LIMC, LIPE, LIPZ, LIRF

EatMyShorts! 3rd March 2026 10:52

...but in light of an updated temporary gateway policy, you won't be able to use those temporary gateways throughout the year. It is a significant deterioration of conditions and some colleagues won't be able to continue in the company.

In light of this we need to warn people who are interested in joining Netjets: if you expect to e.g. use a gateway in Spain, but actually live in France by using a temporary gateway there, this has ended now. Don't come here. Join Air France instead.

EatMyShorts! 6th March 2026 21:24

I would like to expand on my previous post.

The number of days allowed at temporary gateways (outside the country of your permanent gateway) is limited to 30% of your contractual days per calendar year. The standard contract is 200 years per year, resulting in a maximum of 60 "contract days" that can be spent at a temporary gateway. This is all due to EU social security rules.
The thing that is important to understand is that OFF-days at a temporary gateway will not count towards the yearly allowance. But days on tour before and/or after using temporary gateway will count. Basically, when you start and end a tour out of a temporary gateway, all tour days will count. If you start at your permanent gateway and end at a temporary gateway, only the last day of that tour will count towards the annual allowance. If you start at a temporary gateway, but end at your permanent gateway, all tour-days will count, except for the last day.

As our work rhythm is usually 6 ON and 5 OFF, you can do 10 full stays at temporary gateways in a calendar year. You can surely optimize it, by playing with the above mentioned rules, but it is definitely a step back from what we had before.

Globally Challenged 8th March 2026 16:50

Keep an eye out on LinkedIn around August when we will apparently be recruiting again for indocs Jan/Feb/March 2027

I’m not sure what the hold pool status will be but I believe those still swimming are being contacted every month or so - so hopefully those people will get contacted first.

Just to be sure about the salary: are productivity pay and per diems also inflation adjusted?

redsnail 11th March 2026 00:50

I'm a bit out of the loop, historically the per diems are not inflation adjusted which is mildly annoying. If you're a UK tax resident, then they're taxed too.
As for productivity pay? I can't remember, I am sure EMS will be along soon to clarify. :)

TheAirMission 11th March 2026 08:16

Productivity has been inflation adjusted, among with length of service and other things - but per diem has not.

EatMyShorts! 11th March 2026 11:01

As TheAirMission wrote, all rates will be corrected for inflation, except for per diems.

4. Inflation Correction
The following pay shall be increased annually (with retroactive application to 1 January of the relevant year) by the blended OECD rate:
Base pay – will be increased by the blended OECD rate every year;
LoS: Length of service reward rates;
Productivity pay rates new scheme;
Extended day rates;
Pay-per-event rates;
Early retirement rates

Thanks for the replies guys!

Mike Oxbig 22nd March 2026 11:42

It has been a while since I posted but I can say after 22 years with NJE, it is not just the salary that counts (although important). The variety of flying, vast amount of airports and dynamism of the job still appeal to me. I went to 2 new airports last tour for example. Good luck to those in the pool and how are looking to apply.

nrizzo98 17th April 2026 09:17

Hi guys.
Soon I will hit the requirement of 1500 hours total in order to apply to Netjets (almost 1100 hours on Airbus).
I was wondering if any o you have any info about when they could possibly open again.
PPJN says "hiring to resume in autumn 2026"
Plus, do they still use Kura for the recruitment? Because I saw on Netjets's website that they have some positions open for type rated pilots.

Really looking forward to have the chance to join the Netjets family.

TheAirMission 17th April 2026 12:23

From our understanding on the line, the plan is still for a recruitment window to open in the Autumn with the intention of new courses starting from 2027.
Kura should be the recruitment company. Follow them on LinkedIn and sign up to Kura's newsletter to know when it opens.
Any open positions on NetJet's website will be for EJM/EJME and not NetJets Direct. It would be a good idea to include EJME's relationship to NetJets as part of your understanding of the business for any future interview questions that might ask "What do you know about NetJets?"!

All above subject to Trump most likely.

SSDK 28th April 2026 16:12

Sounds very interesting. Is there any info on salary and time to command on the UK contract?

PJN is a good idea. Time to command doesnt matter based on contract. Everyone is on the same seniority therefore it doesnt matter. But based on how the company age population will exediate retirements, it will be a couple of years or so for the bottom of the list. If its something that you want straight away, look elsewhere.

The money is still very good in the RHS (more than most PICs elsewhere in business aviation and not bad compared to many short haul airline captains if you make yourself available to fly)

A couple of day freelancing outside the company (other than you own) makes the internal rates taste like peanuts.
Gulfstream 650/700/800and Global 7500 segment regularly commands 4000+USD day rates.

Not sure you can compare between being fully employed working for a large company to the highs and lows of freelancing.
