I just read that they have closed a deal with Travel agents to sell the card. They will pay the agents 5000 euro for each card they sell.

Desperation more likely. Sounds like they can't sell to the end users so trying to scrape something off the travel agents.....

JOB HUNTER: google is your friend

"jet republic" "travel agent" - Google Search

The very first hit yields:

et Republic, the European private jet company, is to start selling its Private Jet Card through travel agents.

The price of the Card starts at €130,000, and Jet Republic will pay a one-off commission of €5,000 to travel agents for each card they sell.

Travel agents will also be able to buy the card for themselves and sell flight time to clients individually, earning five per cent per flight in service fees.

Jet Republic's Private Jet Card provides Members with 25 hours of flight time without any further commitment. There are no landing fees or fuel surcharges and the flight hours never expire. It offers all the benefits of private aviation with the simple pricing structure of a one-off payment. The Private Jet Card connects over 1,000 airports in Europe and customers can fly anywhere in the world using Jet Republic's partnership with other operators.

Jet Republic's Card Membership unlocks access to its network of light, midsize, large and global aircraft, allowing customers to tailor their trip according to the size of their group and the destinations on their schedule. Depending on availability, and where appropriate, clients will be upgraded to Jet Republic's fractional fleet of Learjet 60 XRs.

In September 2008, Jet Republic placed a $1.5 billion order for 110 Bombardier Learjet 60 XR aircraft - the largest European private jet order ever made. The first aircraft will be operational from October 2009.

Card Members also receive access to Jet Republic's 24-hour, global concierge. This offers the highest level of end-to-end concierge that can open doors to Members in any city worldwide, from dinner reservations to theatre tickets. A virtual executive aide is on call day and night with the full resources of the concierge's worldwide network.

Jonathan Breeze, CEO of Jet Republic said: "There are some 465,000 ultra high net worth individuals in the UK, many of whom are becoming increasingly time poor. This, combined with the fact that travel on commercial airlines is becoming more stressful as many cut routes and flights due to the current economic downturn, makes the financial and lifestyle benefits of flying by private jet all the more attractive.

"For travel agents servicing the ultra high net worth market, a Jet Republic Private Jet Card provides a market leading private jet proposition that clients who need to travel regularly or to remote parts of Europe should find very appealing."

Think he maybe a little behind the drag curve here, lots of these now cash poor and time rich.

This guy is off his bloody trolley.

Here are the figures from the latest World Wealth Report - and not updated yet following recent market turmoil......

"Number of High Net Worth Individuals in Europe is 3,100,000 - the actual number of Ultra HNWI in Europe itself is a mere 25,000!!!!"

Oh dear.......

The "talking it up" by the CEO flies in the face of the statement from Air Partner which claims the market is in freefall.

CTC? Is this not a training provider where the terms and conditions usually involve the pilot paying?

I have no agenda, this is a genuine question.

I believe that CTC have offered interview/sim selection processes for a number of airlines in the past, so this appears a normal activity for them. With final 4th stage selection at interview in Lisbon.
