Any information?
Hi,
CTC called me yesterday for a short phone interview. I am waiting the email that should say if I "passed" it or not.
In the case I pass, I should go for a personal interview in Southampton either the 30th July or the 3rd August.
Anyone can tell me what's that about?
Thank you very much.

Not too much experience!!! Only 3000 hours TT, but all of them in corporate jets! I am surprised that they called me after reading here that they will only be interested in military / airline experienced guys!!

Received the email last week that they are not interested and don't even keep me on file.
Approaching 6000 TT, 2700 as PIC on the LJ60, not sure what they need, not experience I suppose.
But, the salary in relation to the roster would have been an issue.

Yes, I think that's their problem with experienced guys - You would not put up with pay and roster and would start making problems for them! I don't wanna be too negative about an operation that is not yet up and running, but it does give you some kind of idea of what kind of operation this will be.... I think they will be looking for people with minimum experience who are happy to have a job, any job.

Maybe they're taking a pause and waiting to see how many Netjets crews are available in a few weeks time. Not for a minute saying they are better than anybody else but they would be a known entity to the management.
Of course, that could be total bolloeux.

Aha. Not CTC but direct from JR via email. CTC was the 2nd hurdle. And I have the long range exp. so don't see that as a factor either. Besides, Now you have told me that I can't take them seriously. LR60 really is the wrong a/c and now they are talking going inter-continental before even getting a wheel in the well? All very disapointing to see such crazy decisions being made. 'Will watch their future with interest.

don't know
but look at their web-site..
just the "range" of the 60, listed here as 2120 statute miles....
Jet Republic : Learjet 60 XR
if I were Bombardier, I'd stay clear of folks who portray my product in such a wrong way..and could be one of the reasons you will not find Bombardier on their web-site
AND list "prices" and all that blah, blah..
surprised they are still around..
could understand that during the boom times a lot of Net jets copycats could attract some interest from your average nouveau riche..
alas those nouveaux are broke now... their dough went away with Madoff & company..they fly Ryanair nowadays, if they can afford to fly at all..
cannot imagine such companies attracting folks with real money nowadays..
maybe there still are some braindead around now, but doubt it..

Bombardier quote 2,338nm on their site and we all know how manufacturers are at bigging up their products. Maybe JR are just being a little more realistic?

It's a little predictable to see people who have not been invited for selection, or who have been sent home after the group exercise & aptitude tests, to rubbish Jet Republic but let's be honest, if you were so convinced that they are destined for failure you wouldn't have applied in the first case, would you?
As for the suggestion from someone who was sent home after group ex & aptitude that they are favouring ex long haul capts and trainers. I think it's more likely that they are prioritising those who pass the aptitude don't you think?
A couple of posters seem mystified that they have been rejected with 2000 and 2300 hours when the website says 3000 minimum. Maybe they are also assessing the ability to read, write and spell.
No axe to grind here but this thread does seem to be full of people who only wish ill on any company other than their own or hold the view that since they weren't hired that the company are cr*p.

well Flintstone,
don't know

those folks have ONE product on their web-site..
the Lear 60... not a bad bird, maybe not really suited to a lot of smaller fields due to high REF speeds..
but then again, you have just ONE product and quote a range of 1800 NM, when in fact we all know the 60 DOES fly farther, quite a bit..
would be the first case of sales & marketing to "downgrade" their primary product..
so if the web-site already is that wrong, well, how about the rest...??

and in regards to pricing
the folks had on their web-site a new discounted price of some 13.6 MIO USD or something like instead of a list of 14.5 something..
man, the ramps in Tucson are full of brand new Lear 60's
asking prices in the range of 11 MIO USD...
means if you offer 10 MIO USD cash you take it home the same day..and they give you a pre-paid fuel card for a full year...

Having been on the receiving end of irate share owners who have been told many lies by salesmen (previous employer rhyming with 'Letjets') frankly I find it enlightening that an operator is being cautious for once. As for the overprice quote fractional operators have been doing that for decades. Buy at reduced prices and calculate the share costs using the RRP. Anyone surprised by that can't have been paying attention.
I'm curious though falconer, what did JR do to annoy you? Knock your application back?
