With that very distinctive runway layout and what looks like snow, I’m guessing Canada.

descol 12th Oct 2021 15:48

yes IFT - it is

descol 12th Oct 2021 15:50

IF2 - I see you are in Alberta - so - in your Home Country

jeffb 12th Oct 2021 18:32

Trenton, Ontario?

India Four Two 12th Oct 2021 18:32

Doh!

I didn’t spot the hangars at the bottom of the picture!

I’ve flown gliders and tow planes out of there many times.

Claresholm CEJ4. Built as a primary (note the parallel runways) BCATP airfield during WWII and used again in the 50s to train NATO pilots.

Now down to one maintained runway, although some of the others are still usable, with care.

PS The short white roads are for access to natural gas wells.

descol 13th Oct 2021 08:40

RCAF yes - but not Trenton of Claresholm

Jn14:6 13th Oct 2021 09:02

Hamilton??

descol 13th Oct 2021 09:45

Not in Ontario

Asturias56 13th Oct 2021 16:56

Is it still in use? Looks a bit like Penhold, Alberta

jeffb 13th Oct 2021 18:02

RCAF station Scoudouc NB? OH if correct

descol 13th Oct 2021 18:54

Not Penhold but Scoudouc is getting nearer -

Asturias56 14th Oct 2021 08:31

CFB Greenwood Nova Scotia?

descol 14th Oct 2021 09:38

Ast - you have gone a little too far south - not Greenwood .
The CFB closed in late 80s

jeffb 14th Oct 2021 11:23

Summerside PEI?

Yes that’s it - JeffB - Canadian Forces Base Summerside was an air force base located in St. Eleanors, Prince Edward Island, Canada, now part of the city of Summerside. The airfield was constructed by the Royal Canadian Air Force between 1940–1941 and was named RCAF Station Summerside. The airfield was constructed in the typical BCATP wartime pattern, with runways formed in a triangle. In approximately 1942 the aerodrome was listed as RCAF Aerodrome - Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

jeffb 14th Oct 2021 15:21

Thank you, never been to the Summerside airport, but have enjoyed several visits to the Island, looking forward to going back sometime. In the meantime, OH declared.

India Four Two 15th Oct 2021 20:49

Well, it looked awfully like Claresholm until the uncropped runway extensions showed up. 😀

Ive never flown from Summerside. Here’s another runway I’ve never flown from although I came close! 😎
