An extra "e" makes all the difference! :)

Whiteman Airport, Pacoima in the San Fernando Valley.

Los Angles is not far from Lost Wages
CC, there's an interesting connection with my post. Whiteman is featured in an episode of Bosch, a very good LAPD "police procedural" on Amazon Prime. In another episode, I heard the appellation "Lost Wages", which was new to me.

descol has the con.

Thanks India
I will brush up on my spelling
'Lost Wages' - have not heard that one

What say you Towering Cu?

BSD.

TCU 27th Sep 2021 11:08

I would say BA59 has taken you to the correct country Sir!

BSD 27th Sep 2021 11:33

Stellenbosch? FASH.

TCU 28th Sep 2021 13:25

BSD....on the money Sir

Stellenbosch airfield, Western Cape. Built in 1974, first with a grass runway 18/36, now with 790m of tarmac 01/19 (same directions as its local big brother, Cape Town International, FACT). I believe a first appearance on this thread.

Perhaps the most beautiful airfield in Southern Africa....and there is a fair bit of competition

Over to you BSD

Yay! You are right T-Cu: lovely spot.

Try this everyone, shouldn't be too demanding but enjoy the picture!

More commonly known as Langham.

TCU, in the small trio of pictures you presented in # 468 , there is a high wing twin engined aircraft visible, with a double tail fin. Whayt type could that be?

Could that be a retired SAAF Shackleton?

Indeed. SAAF Shackleton 1719, although it has long since left the airfield.

We do however have a rather lovely DH Vampire FB.52 (214) and a Mirage F1 CZ (207), both ex SAAF, on static display

With 24 hours now pretty much elapsed, I can declare: Langham it is but Cockthorpe will do for me too.

Asturias, enjoy your time in Norfolk, if you haven't visited the Langham Dome (only just out of view in the picture at mid-right side) a nicely done museum, won't take too much time but well worth a visit.

I leave it to either of you two (Asturias or OAUQUKGF) to post the next challenge.

Interesting side note for connoisseurs: both TCu's (subsequent) and my picture feature Tiger Moths.

Cheers all,
