Not Angola nor Cameroon, Algeria Mali
What does make you think it is related to France?

chevvron 21st Feb 2023 11:29

OK maybe it's the ex Belgian Congo which nobody remembers.

ea200 21st Feb 2023 11:51

Based on a pretty tenuous link, is it in Tanzania?

I don’t remember it but read a good book about its independency and almost direct following civil war. Also saw recently The Siege of Jadotville
on Netflix. But no, not Congo. Although you are closing in.

Now the giveaway on the country (and the back view of the …. National Commercial Bank Plc)

Thanks Bear. Lots of airfields in Africa with 6 letter names and M as a 5th letter. Several 'Commerce' banks too.

Here's one which might be easy for some:

looks like one of a zillion US hotels..................

chevvron 22nd Feb 2023 09:39

Looks similar to the Tobago Hilton but it's not the Hilton anymore.

Yes it does, but it's not a hotel. It has a much more direct aviation connection. It is in the USA though so it is not the Tobago ex Hilton.

chevvron 22nd Feb 2023 23:24

Was it originally an airship shed?

chimbu warrior 23rd Feb 2023 00:22

Is it Princeville PHPV?

Asturias56 23rd Feb 2023 07:38

" a much more direct aviation connection"

Is that historic - say pre 1914?

ea200 23rd Feb 2023 08:28

The building is fairly recent and so is the airfield. There are no historic connections. Not PHPV it is mainland US. Another picture clue later today.

ea200 23rd Feb 2023 22:26

Time for some more clues. The building belongs to a widespread handling company.

Blue nose on left line-Stallion51..Kissimmee....?

Asturias56 24th Feb 2023 07:33

not sure - the ASAP Aerospace Building at Kissimmee looks similar but not identical - and I can't see where they park all those light aircraft in neat rows

I hadn't spotted that, but it does look like Stallion51 colours. I can find no record of them being there but it would not surprise me. The airfield does have a rather tenuous link to a record set with a P51.
