No "double-yellow lines" at Kissimmee according to GE.

ea200 24th Feb 2023 14:10

I should have said, it is not Kissimmee.

Asturias56 24th Feb 2023 14:50

That's because that is where it is.

step by step we make progress....................

Are we, Sir, in the Confederacy?

Yes we are

I would suggest that some research along the lines of 'P51 world records' would narrow things down a bit. This airfield does get a mention.

Asturias56 25th Feb 2023 08:56

Texas?

ea200 25th Feb 2023 09:06

Not Texas.

chevvron 25th Feb 2023 13:03

For world records in the confederacy and flat countryside like Florida I would suggest New Smyrna Beach; it has 'T' style parking rather than parking in rows.

ea200 25th Feb 2023 13:40

Not New Smyrna Beach, but you are getting closer.

chevvron 25th Feb 2023 13:53

Daytona then?

ea200 25th Feb 2023 14:52

Afraid you have gone in the wrong direction.

Asturias56 26th Feb 2023 08:07

Could be Titusville - valiant Air Command's base - but I don't remember the yellow marking when I was there in 2018

Is the airport still in use - several in C Florida have been "re-purposed"?

ea200 26th Feb 2023 12:06

You are heading in the right direction. Airport is about 30 years old and is certainly still in use. Couple of 172s active at the moment but it is still early there. You need a more wordy answer.

chevvron 26th Feb 2023 12:56

Would the words resemble 'Riddle' and 'Embrey'?

Self loading bear 26th Feb 2023 13:00

I think the building has a specific signature, but the airport could generally be in each county.

ea200 26th Feb 2023 19:33

I can see no connection with Embry-Riddle but they might use it.
Bear clearly knows where it is but I can't declare it if nobody actually names it with its' 5 word name. I would accept the first 4 which is common usage.

Care to sort it out between you?

Signature Flight Support is the owner of the building and County is part of the name.

P51 record was by that prolific record setter Doug Mathews. On his altitude record his chase plane launched out of this airfield.

Now my cockpit challenge is solved I can say:
North Palm beach County General aviation airport (F45).

ea200 26th Feb 2023 20:51

That mouthful of a name is correct. Bear has control.
