Det er dansk!

Well?
KZ.111
Beagle's uncanny nose smells it out yet again!
Over... |
Something from `Douglas`,.....Skyray...?
Not from Douglas!
Something from `Europe`/Scandi...?
European
Beware of the fiery breath!
Y Draig Goch - the Red Dragon - or Saab J-35 Draken I'd guess
SAAB Draken it is! Asturias56, you have control!
Thankyou - would never have got it except for the clew ...................
Try this - had several names/designations over its life - I'll accept anything reasonable https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....622d02037c.jpg |

At first I thought Cirrus but hunting through "Cockpit side stick single engine" I now believe it is a Cessna 400?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_400 |
Well that didn't last long - yes the Columbia 300/Cessna400/CessnaTTx
Not a bad aircraft by all accounts but not as good as the Cirrus which took the lions share of the market Over to Ombinda https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....8dd81523ed.jpg |
Thanks A.
I suspect this one won't take too long either. Saw one flying for the 1st time the other day - was suitably impressed... https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....ad6c3b7e6f.jpg |
that blue point suggests it's Russian?
Looks a lot like an MI-24 back seat.

Thanks Ombinda. Don't suppose this will last long either:

Kawasaki Ki-45 Kai Hei Toryu (Dragon Killer).
That's the one. Carelessly posted the whole picture rather than the crop I had intended.
Take it away BEagle |
British,Euro,US...EXPERIMENTAL...?
One of those......
Kind of looks like the Space Shuttle stick setup...
The instruments look to be American rather than British. 1950 ish?
Doesn`t seem to have an AI..some kind of VSTOL `WIZZER`,like the Ryan Vertijet...?
Not the Ryan Vertijet.
The AI is above the VSI and partially obscured by the V-shaped loop of fabric hangin down from the glareshield. |
Whatever it is it looks crashed and subsequently unloved.
The stick arrangement suggests a FBW or boosted system as surely it is too short for a manual stick. Dual RBI/RMI so needs navigation eqiopment. Possibly ILS or maybe Doppler (but deosn't look like a helo) G meter and three-needle altimeter so high altitude capable Twin I think. Late '40s, early '50s? Where's the throttle/s? |
Several hundred of these existed! Long before FBW, it had powered controls though.
Single engine, throttle is just out of shot on the left side. |
USN? or USAF/USAF??
Perhaps......
The `T`-Bar` ,or throttle-grip for holding during cat .launches indicates its USN/USMC,but the pic doesn`t do justice to one of the best looking jets, even if `Old Henry`said `you can only have `em in black` ..the `Ford`/F4D Skyray..fastest carrier-borne jet,s-sonic in level flight, world altitude record holder ...at that time,...
Thought it may have been a pic of the FJ-3,another `classy` jet.. OH if correct..... |
Correct, sycamore, it is indeed the cockpit of a Douglas F4D-1 Skyray!
You have control! |
Sorry,bit late---OPEN HOUSE..
ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Deja view :p or Senior moment? you posted that as a challenge in late April - thread #4239 - some Danish aircraft IIRC |
Senior moment then...I even did a search to check and it didn't come up!
Ok, back to open house. |
