Why 4 hours;has there been a rule change?
Hangar types plus shape of northern boundary and the road running through it give it away.
OH if correct.

I posted at 14:59 (UTC-7) yesterday. It’s currently 13:26, so about an hour and a half to go. :)

My 24-hour eggtimer has run out, so I can officially confirm what the cognoscenti had already figured out - it's RAF Manston.

The location of my first-ever "spotter" photo - Spitfire Mk XVI TB752 - with my bike just visible behind the port "chassis" leg. I found the contact print recently and discovered I had carefully written "Spitfire XVI" on the back!

sycamore 25th Nov 2019 12:22

Italy or Spain...?

Asturias56 25th Nov 2019 12:42

OK, ..Italy, judging by the young lady,unattached..?,possibly near Aquino area...MonteCassino in background,,,?

Asturias56 26th Nov 2019 08:00

Definitely correct - you're getting close - not sure that it' s Casino but definitely the right part of Italy

It always astounds me that there are large parts of Italy no-one (even in Italy) has ever heard of that are quite charming - this place is quite rural

Can`t be more specific.;;bit of drift now;;;many years ago, flying HM`s HS125,we took a retiring General and his wife to Naples on his farewell tour, with the return to Rome after lunch,Talking to his ADC ,he said that the General had served in the area as a subaltern in WW2 at Monte Cassino. So,a plot was hatched..we`d cancel IFR after t/o and go VFR.Unfortunately all IFR departures were cancelled out of Naples as an Italian F-104 had declared a `MAYDAY` into Grazzanise ,however we persuaded ATC we`d go VFR,which we then did,but we didn`t let the General know the plot until we were airborne ,following the autostrada.,and around MC..He and his wife were very pleased with their little tour after we landed at Ciampino about 20 mins later....

Tough to give any meaningful clues as nothing has ever happened here or in the surrounding towns as far as I'm aware - it's quite a drive from Anzio for example

It's in Lazio Province and over 20 kms from the sea

nvubu 26th Nov 2019 12:21

Meaningful clue is your last sentence - and the GE image with the little aeroplane.

Campo di Volo Ufo

sycamore 26th Nov 2019 12:44

Bit closer..?atterraggio parapendio...41.34.9N..12.56.5E..N of Latina airfield....doesn't look like it...
