Warmer like Italia but not Italia ... out until 1600 UK

Africa or Far East....?
|
|
Thanks for the airline as in Indonesia.
Looking. |
Yes -Republik Indonesia it is (and Merpati - now there's an airline to bring you out in a cold sweat...)
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....843501327b.jpg Another not very helpful picture................... |
Yes - and I've ID'd and found the CASA.
edit: is it Binaka ? err - no. |
Actually I've now looked at it on G Earth and I might be fooling myself by the proximity of the sea. The challenge could be photographed from the north.
I'll change my mind and shoot for it again although I can't understand your last image. |
Bloody hell!
yes its Binaka Airport, Gunungsitoli, in Nias in Sumatra...... I'm m going to seriously have to up my game........................ Dook has control https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....10970204b3.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....b245e57fd9.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....3029620dcf.jpg |
The other day one of mine lasted two minutes !!
The airline name on the CASA gave it away. |
|
The landscape looks a little Canarian or Azorean. The apparent era and aircraft type(s) makes me think of one of the transit airfields in the Azores. I'll take a punt at Lajes?
|
Good punting jensdad - Lajes indeed.
Your runway, |
Thank you dook.
In the absence of anything more challenging, here's the one that I posted the other day but then took down as I was beaten to the open house by nvubu. dook has very kindly agreed to not partake as he got it in about 2 minutes last time :) https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....3acb662168.jpg |
I see that AW is based in Europe. The stone wall makes me think it might be Lundy.

I think that is Papa Westray, the eastern end of the worlds shortest scheduled route. OH if correct. |
I got it last time because I once landed there in an RAF Sea King on a "jolly".
We flew all the ASR pilots in a Jaguar and this was a reciprocal trip. Fair amount of torque available in the Sea King I can tell you. |
Need the OP to confirm.........................
|
Of course we do.
|
With those tyres you can `water-ski` across...just keep the brakes on...
