Thanks for the airline as in Indonesia.

Looking.

Asturias56 26th Jun 2019 15:58

Yes -Republik Indonesia it is (and Merpati - now there's an airline to bring you out in a cold sweat...)

Another not very helpful picture...................

dook 26th Jun 2019 15:59

Yes - and I've ID'd and found the CASA.

edit: is it Binaka ?

err - no.

dook 26th Jun 2019 16:14

Actually I've now looked at it on G Earth and I might be fooling myself by the proximity of the sea. The challenge could be photographed from the north.

I'll change my mind and shoot for it again although I can't understand your last image.

Asturias56 26th Jun 2019 16:25

Bloody hell!

yes its Binaka Airport, Gunungsitoli, in Nias in Sumatra......

I'm m going to seriously have to up my game........................ Dook has control

The other day one of mine lasted two minutes !!

The airline name on the CASA gave it away.

The landscape looks a little Canarian or Azorean. The apparent era and aircraft type(s) makes me think of one of the transit airfields in the Azores. I'll take a punt at Lajes?

dook 26th Jun 2019 18:30

Good punting jensdad - Lajes indeed.

Your runway,

jensdad 26th Jun 2019 22:02

Thank you dook.
In the absence of anything more challenging, here's the one that I posted the other day but then took down as I was beaten to the open house by nvubu.
dook has very kindly agreed to not partake as he got it in about 2 minutes last time :)

I see that AW is based in Europe. The stone wall makes me think it might be Lundy.

Could this be one of the Scottish Isles?

Flap40 27th Jun 2019 06:52

I think that is Papa Westray, the eastern end of the worlds shortest scheduled route.
OH if correct.

dook 27th Jun 2019 08:58

I got it last time because I once landed there in an RAF Sea King on a "jolly".

We flew all the ASR pilots in a Jaguar and this was a reciprocal trip. Fair amount of torque available in the Sea King I can tell you.

Asturias56 27th Jun 2019 09:15

Need the OP to confirm.........................

dook 27th Jun 2019 09:28

Of course we do.

sycamore 27th Jun 2019 11:05

With those tyres you can `water-ski` across...just keep the brakes on...
