No to both

But Europe somewhere ?

Self loading bear 3rd Mar 2019 10:07

Absolutely!

I think you have to finish this up before Jenkins comes on line.

dook 3rd Mar 2019 10:09

Yes - then we'll get the crossword puzzle.

Please check your propeller rotation thread re. Hornet.

JENKINS 3rd Mar 2019 11:11

Early Finkenwerder?

dook 3rd Mar 2019 11:39

I'm not convinced about the UK.

Self loading bear 3rd Mar 2019 11:41

No finkenwerder
no UK

sycamore 3rd Mar 2019 12:50

Amsterdam 1920..?....... OH if correct...

dook 3rd Mar 2019 12:53

Buiksloterham ?

Self loading bear 3rd Mar 2019 12:57

Almost there,
It lacks the location and the year is wrong.

JENKINS 3rd Mar 2019 13:15

1919 the year, location other than Amsterdam more difficult. There is an inlet of similar shape on the South side of the North Sea Canal, but no sign of an airfield or a name. One must hope that Her Majesty had a good day-out. I fear that LunaPark in Amsterdam North is as far as I can get.

Handley Page and Rolls Royce prominent!

dook 3rd Mar 2019 13:24

Buiksloterham still looks the part but like you I cannot find an airfield.

Self loading bear 3rd Mar 2019 13:24

My apologies,
I wanted a more precise answer as Amsterdam.
Dook’s Buiksloterham crossed with my post and is technically correct.
As that is a part of Amsterdam North.
The Temporary airfield was known under an other name.

dook 3rd Mar 2019 13:45

There is nothing further I can add to Buiksloterham and there seems to be nothing on the web about it.

Then I declare dook the winner.

ELTA
Eerste Luchtvaart Tentoonstelling Amsterdam
at the Papaverweg in October 1919.
generally regarded as the start of our KLM.
I wonder if they celebratie this under the umbrelka of their younger sister company.

Premises were later used for Fokker’s Nederlandse Vliegtuig fabrieken.

Jenkins already reverted to this at my Soesterberg challenge.
