Amsterdam 1920..?....... OH if correct...
|
Buiksloterham ?
|
Almost there, It lacks the location and the year is wrong. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....dfdebd6f9.jpeg |
1919 the year, location other than Amsterdam more difficult. There is an inlet of similar shape on the South side of the North Sea Canal, but no sign of an airfield or a name. One must hope that Her Majesty had a good day-out. I fear that LunaPark in Amsterdam North is as far as I can get.
Handley Page and Rolls Royce prominent! |
Buiksloterham still looks the part but like you I cannot find an airfield.
|
My apologies, I wanted a more precise answer as Amsterdam. Dook’s Buiksloterham crossed with my post and is technically correct. As that is a part of Amsterdam North. The Temporary airfield was known under an other name. |
There is nothing further I can add to Buiksloterham and there seems to be nothing on the web about it.

ELTA Eerste Luchtvaart Tentoonstelling Amsterdam at the Papaverweg in October 1919. generally regarded as the start of our KLM. I wonder if they celebratie this under the umbrelka of their younger sister company. Premises were later used for Fokker’s Nederlandse Vliegtuig fabrieken. Jenkins already reverted to this at my Soesterberg challenge. SLB |
