This is close to the home of Japan's beautiful Red-Crowned Cranes. Zooming out both my image and the Google Earth shot will reveal the name of this aerodrome. I can put up the former, but perhaps best to wait a bit to see if anyone can find the latter.
Rather than hog the thread I will put up one or the other if nothing has appeared by tomorrow morning, say 10.00z. |

Not Kushiro although I see that is also very close to one of the Red-Crowned Cranes reserves. This aerodrome is due north from there.

That is interesting - I checked the Kanji script for all the airports in Hokkaido and couldn't find a match.
All is clear now. The characters for Memanbetsu Kūkō are 女満別空港. The sign on the terminal building is facing away from the airside and so is reversed! Yes it's in the America's
