Excellent sleuth skills Trevor :D. It is the "Caproni Sauro-1 aka Caproni Tricap".
It is a new one for me... always fun coming across new ones. SincoTC's control :ok: Edit; Here's a site with more pictures, click on them for higher resolution: G.M.S. - Gruppo Modellistico Sestese |

No guesses yet, so time for a clue, the rotary engine is a 50 hp Gnôme!

Hi Graeme Good Morning to you. That is the one you have control.

Seems I've seen that tail before.
Douglas Dolphin? |
I've seen that tail before. Tis indeed the Dolphin Karl, your control mate. :ok: |
I remember that show. It was quite a tale.
Here's the next: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...08/2012/44.jpg |
Bernard SIMB AB 14 ?
|
Correct that it is French but not Bernard. About the same timeframe.
|
Good afternoon Karl,
I found something very near in the Fright Archives for 1924, naming it as the Descamps-Brunet A.2, but by 1926 M.Brunet seems to have departed along with the slight differences in the Cowl/radiator area so I think that yours is probably just called the Descamps A.2 ?? :) |
Caudron C.17 A2 ?
|
Sorry for the late reply Trevor & Brian. Researching it more I see combinations of Caudron C-17, Descamps-Brunet 17 A2, DB-16 depending on the limited information on the internet.
The photograph posted was from the San Diego Air Museum archive and lists it as a Descamps A-2. The same website mentions it as the 17: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...93df3887_o.jpg The Caudron C-17 photo in Aviafrance looks closer than the Fright Archive photo - different engines? Allegedly the Descamps was license build from Caudron. I am having trouble sorting it all out. Credit goes to SincoTC and evansb. :ok::ok: Whoever wants to take control, speak up... edit; or post one up! :) |
