That looks like a PZL compass. Is this a homebuilt from Eastern Europe?

Spit161 2nd Oct 2011 12:05

No, it's not a homebuild and no, it's not from Eastern Europe.

RegDep 3rd Oct 2011 09:25

Promised not to play if I can get these without aviation knowledge, but this has now been up for four days, and I wonder:

"xxxxxxx plans remain available more than 50 years after the first flight and homebuilding building continues".

skytrain10 3rd Oct 2011 11:07

How about a Stolp Starduster?

Edit to say, I should point out however it is available as a homebuild.

Reg, not sure if that's what you were getting at in your last post:confused:

MReyn24050 3rd Oct 2011 11:17

As Ken says the Stolp Starduster SA100.

Skytrain, sorry for a bit unlucky (unwise?) wording in my post. What I meant is that some challenge pictures can be cracked purely by Google means without knowing any search terms nor where to look. I have promised not to play in WC if that is the case with the challenge. This one can be cracked without even knowing that it is an aircraft, so I refrain, except now that it had been up for four days and that I had read in the sources I had found that it is homebuilt.

I may play with the tools (available to everyone without any additional cost) in some other threads, but often wait until I see that the challenge is not cracked by others. This is just me personally, I am not proposing it to be adopted.

PS: the sentence I quoted in my post was from Wikipedia.

Thanks Mel. Will wait for Jake to confirm.

Reg, uh, think I understand. My criteria was...a reasonably modern biplane...started with the more popular ones, and after a while came up with the Stolp! Not an expert on search engines, so perhaps there was a quicker way to find it:). In this instance I found it by searching for "stolp cockpit":ok:

That of course is where the original SA designation came from:ok:

Skytrain10, we've had it before - it is the Kawasaki XP-1 (Post 4067).

cheers,
Jake.

skytrain10 3rd Oct 2011 15:55

Jake, yes, you're quite correct. Wasn't looking under the XP designation. In that case will have to be Open House

Spit161 3rd Oct 2011 16:12

I shall step up to the podium:
