Not from France either.

German Mel....Dornier Do.P or Do.23?
|
Right country Ken, but wrong manufacturer.
|
Junkers Ju 288?
cheers, Jake. |
Try something a little earlier....DFW R.I?
|
Ken has the correct era. However this aircraft was not multi-engined.
|
Mmm, how about the Linke-Hoffmann R.II?
|
Not the Linke-Hoffmann R.II, although that had a single propeller it also had four 252 hp (188 kW) Mercedes D.IVa engines ,arranged in pairs in the central fuselage and drove the propeller through clutches, shafts and gearboxes.
This aircraft not a large aircraft. It was a special type of bomber with a crew of two. |
Had assumed large in view of its apparent elevation in respect of the building in the photo as well as the width of the cockpit. Would this be a seaplane, a torpedo bomber?
|
Fascinating challenge Mel. It looks so big! :)
OK... German. Bomber. Crew or 2. WW1. Single engine. Nose compartment for gunner/navigator so no engine at the front? special type of bomber I was thinking of the L.F.G. Roland G.1....? With one buried engine driving two pusher props, it is kinda special. :) |
German.
Bomber. Crew or 2. WW1. Single engine and not a Roland. That is correct. Ken and Graeme have stated that the aircraft looks big. She was not that big and she was not a seaplane but a flying boat over 100 built. |
Another day another stab…….
Hansa Brandenburg CC perhaps? |
Something from Oertz...the W4? Can't find any info on it, and not even sure if it could be described as a bomber, but you never know!
Have to admint can't really find much that satisfies the bomber criteria:ugh: |
It is certainly a Hansa Brandenburg aircraft but not the CC nor the W.4. It is in fact the Hansa Brandenburg W.13
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...denburgW13.jpg From Wikipedia:- The Hansa-Brandenburg W.13 was a flying boat bomber developed in Germany in 1917 and used by the Austro-Hungarian Navy during World War I. It was a largely conventional design for the time, with a single-step hull and an engine mounted pusher-fashion on struts in the interplane gap. The pilot and a gunner sat in tandem open cockpits at the bow. The cockpit photograph was taken on board K.242. Aviate1138 has control. |
Thanks Mel, a generous 'award' although the W 13 was going to be added but I just didn't have the time……..
Sorry about delay - family weddings - two and a birth has meant it has to be Open House. |
While aviate is savouring the champagne and wetting the baby's head...
May I offer: http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...img003edit.jpg I have a less cropped version if anyone needs it in a little while. |
SF-260...?
|
Firefly?
cheers, Jake. |
Yes, a Slingsby Firefly (T67).
Jake, we're in your hands. |
