Oooh! Oooh! Oooh!

I know this one!!!!

It's a Piper PA25 Pawnee.

As a glider pilot I've been pulled to 2000 feet regularly by one of these!

ps - does anyone else agree that the Pawnee is one of the ugliest aeroplanes ever made?

PPRuNe Radar 11th Nov 2005 01:07

cringe 11th Nov 2005 17:26

Fairey Barracuda ?

MReyn24050 11th Nov 2005 19:05

Wow Cringe that was fantastic.

forget 11th Nov 2005 19:36

She does indeed! Come on Cringe - what do you do for a living?

cringe 11th Nov 2005 20:30

Thanks, guys. Sorry, I didn't mean to spoil the fun. Having no professional connection to aviation nor specific knowledge, I admit to consulting the net for answers. :O

BEagle 11th Nov 2005 20:39

Correct - indeed a Fairey Barrarracucuda....

How did you get it so quickly?

My late father's business partner used to fly them in WW2. As well as Swordfish and Albacores. He said the Barracuda was a dreadful device - huge trim change when dropping the torpedo. Also the dive brakes did something odd to the airflow over the high mounted tailplane when recovering from the dive.

'Having no professional connection to aviation nor specific knowledge, I admit to consulting the net for answers'.

Hmmm. Now do I believe this or.........:hmm:

cringe 11th Nov 2005 21:19

BEagle,

How did you get it so quickly?
It was the spade grip on the Gannet that made me check Fairey.

I give my next go to someone else.

Hey forget, which part is difficult to understand? ;) There's someone who could vouch for me, but he's not posting in this thread...

forget 12th Nov 2005 09:08

Cringe, I'm sorry, I wasn't suggesting you were being 'economical with the truth'. But 'no professional connection to aviation nor specific knowledge' - you are overly modest with the latter.

Good game! Who's next? And let's see if Cringe can beat her own record.
