Looks like Africa to me
Ahh - blowing up the picture gets us Widescreens photography in the bottom right corner - who seem to be based in Sydney
Are we in Australasia?
I presume from the colour palette that this is an not a current picture of the airfield? Maybe 20+ years ago??

Australasia- Depends on your definition (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australasia). Safe to say it's in Oceania.
No idea when it was taken, but yes you're probably right. It certainly looks as it did when I was there in '99.

Maybe I'll just show you where I landed in a balloon to avoid ending up on Beachcomber Island
I was coming in from the east and a 747 was lined up...To the west of the runway is the golf course then the Pacific... The only option was to call a Mayday and stop the 747! I was fair whistling along having taken off up in the hills, and had tried to get into several fields before town without success and the only possible space left was the grass before the runway. The tower were great and stopped the Air Pac a/c and I landed 100m short of the edge. I called them to say we were clear and the Jumbo took off right alongside us; quite spectacular, but I was still shaking too much to take pics
In fact looking again at the pic I think I was a little bit further south as I seem to remember dragging over the roof of one of the warehouses in the bottom right of the pic trying to land in that patch of green

OK, sorry for the delay... 6 balloons this morning with a group of 69 hoteliers from Paris.....Aaanywayyy, descol is back in the driving seat...Well done!
Yes I might well have had a beer or five after that
Fiji- Great place just not enough passengers to sustain a passenger balloon operation.

That's an awfully long runway not to have some sort of taxiway; I presume there's just a 200ft radius turning circle at the end but what happens if someone has a 'problem' midway along and the runway gets blocked?
