Off a `cat` shot ,the `reheat` would be felt in your trousers.....
Could be a Fournier ,with a `pea in a tube VSI`.... OH if......off to TV....

I work from a laptop whilst sitting facing the TV.

The challenge is not French.

The shape of the nose is very reminiscent of an SGS 1-26.

The aeroplane is amateur designed.

It may be purchased as plans only, in kit form, or ready to fly.

Single seat, single engine, hinged canopy. Tailwheel or tricycle.

One instrument is labelled "variometer" which is Eurospeak for what we and the Americans refer to as a VSI.

Variometers in this country are usually reserved for sailplanes but this has an rpm gauge.

I thus think this is European, but might be wrong.

Might it be a motor glider ?

Please note that my challenge had an open cockpit, but over the years and many airframes constructed based on this, quite a few had closed cockpits!

Any more clues required?
