It looks like the flaps are retracted so I ssume the slats are fixed.

Yes, fixed slats. Not referred to as STOL but the take-off distance is around 700 ft.

I used the term "is" as the aircraft is still in existance. Not a kit, but a one off that never went in to production

The car above plus the Audi R8. Both were doing well over 100 from the paddock to the first corner - 300 yards!!!!
