With those graceful lines my initial thought is/was French

A Breguet 460 maybe?

Edit to say closing down for the night now, so if correct will have to be Open House.

Good morning/evening all.

This one might be quite taxing, so clues whenever you want them.

Bingo Mel - the floatplane which could not get airborne with floats on, so was put back into it's original configuration with wheels.

Mel has requested Open House, but since I was not around either last night he may be back early this morning to post his own challenge.

This aircraft was much earlier than the Northrop KD2R Shelduck.

Noyade is correct. (and funny). The version in the silhouette has modified gear legs for torpedo/carrier based ops. Your turn.
