Morning Trevor. Working weekend unfortunately, so not had much opportunity to look in. Would your latest be the CANT 26 from Italy? Bit of a long shot as so far have only found a poor quality photo, but it looks about right

Unfortunately it seems to have been a crazy couple of weeks. Ever hopeful things will calm down - just in time for the Summer season when it all gets manic again.

Sorry, but it's not from Italy
Good job I kept looking then! I feel somewhat more confident about the PZL-5

Going to be fairly busy away from the computer myself this afternoon, but I have to keep an eye on "what Cockpit" too, so I'll trawl for yours when I can.

Is it another French fighter ? Hispano-Suiza engine,

No progress with this one, so a clue. First flew in 1918. Never went in to production.

Good morning Ken.

Do I see an external radiator below the cockpit?

Not that I can see. Looking at a photo I believe what you are looking at is just a pipe of some sort. Don't know its purpose.

Oh..!

If it was the V8 Hisso then it would have to be cooled somehow, hence my thought.

Neither can I see any obvious armament, so did it have a gun firing through the spinner, or was it not designed as a fighter?

Evening smartass.

So it was indeed a radiator on each side.

David, I was evidently looking in the wrong place. I thought what you were referring to was the protusion beneath the fuselage. Sorry yes, there are radiators either side of the cockpit.

It was designed as a fighter, and fitted with 2 synchronised guns.

Sorry David, I am working on a high speed broadband line that is giving me a speed of approx 50 kbps at present so replying is a slow process

Yes, Graeme, it is the Descamps 27 aka C1. Just the one built but development was abandoned in 1919 in favour of the Nieuport 29.

More information here: Descamps 27

Noyade has declared Open House.
