Not UK mate. Keep going (well north east actually), a northern European country.

Hmmm...no luck mate. If it's still around tomorrow morning, I'll continue the search, otherwise I should congratulate Trevor the Swooper, now. Night.

SJ-1 Head Skinner

Sincotc The Crash Report stated Total Seperation of the Wing from the main body but did not say which wing. Jack had flown around 8 Hours in this aircraft and had 926 total Hours Logged. He held a commercial rating and was always well informed as to limits on all aircraft he had flown. He always told me to always know the plane you will be flying. I remember watching him fly the SJ-1 around Magnolia Airport on Saturday the 26th of December and thought how well he flew the plane. The aircraft crashed on Monday afternoon the 28th at 4:25 P M. Just North of the field in a Wooded Area.

Afternoon Karl,

Just to clarify, are we looking at a two-seat open cockpit? No windscreens and a high frame between the cockpits, could almost be a canopy there, although I wouldn't rate the forward view as very good!! Maybe they just sit quite high and in the breeze!

Is it from the US of A?

Gotta go now, will try and get back later

Evening TC,

Yes, 2 place tandem open cockpit... except when the 2nd place was covered:
(easier to confirm with a picture )

There may have been a small clear flared windscreen installed at some point. One off European touring plane from a well known manufacturer.

It is not a BFW M 23 or German, although it appears one of the M 23 models used the same radial engine...
